  Old hotel but it shall be the best hotel in Mianyang

  It's quite old but service is good breakfast with a lot of choices try their mianyang rice noodle it's nice! have diffent choise for pillow but I didn't choose any particular one just beside a supermarket and main road the only thing is their bathroom look old

  Returned after five years, place is updated a bit

  It has been six years since we last stayed at Mianzhou hotel. After the earthquake, it is amazing how many things in Mianyang city have changed and how all the important things have stayed the same. This is also true of this hotel. The lobby and rooms have been largely renovated. It is also quite a bit more expensive. I wish they had done a bit more with the bathrooms, but the rooms are still comfortable and look pretty good. The AC in the room we stayed in this time was not particularly efficient (we did not book the suite this time). This could be an issue, it was never a problem with previous stays, so maybe just this room? Fortunately it was not too hot. Beds are much better than they used to be, and they give you a "menu" of pillows, which is a nice touch (but which I have seen recently in other hotels in China also). My wife got a very nice one with lavender inside. Breakfast is decent, again a bit of decline from 2007. All in all, not quite as good a deal as it used to be. Room prices at this hotel have increased more than prices of other things in this city. However, in my opinion its location still trumps its shortcomings, and for that reason it is still the best hotel in Mianyang unless you are in town strictly for business with Changhong. It is very much better than any other hotel in central region of Mianyang, that is without question. The staff are great. Room servivce is also doing something to make you laugh or happy -- providing fresh fruit, or little cookies gratis, or a little movement sensitive electronic thing to welcome you back to the room when you come back at the end of the day. Most speak enough English to help with whatever problems you may have. The neighborhood behind the hotel is interesting and there you will find dozens of little shops and restaurants featuring many versions the classic Mianyang rice noodles and other fantastic Sichuan street food. From this hotel you are walking distance to almost all of the really nice things in this city -- shopping, food, parks, river walks -- and a short cab ride to Fule mountain. The main city oark is across the street, and is a fantastic place to while away a lazy weekend day drinking tea, Sichuan style. Mianyang is still my favorite city in China, and this is where I will continute to stay.

  Located opposite people's park, with many shops and restaurants nearby

  I have stayed at this hotel on many occaisions. The hotel building is a little old, but still well maintaned. The service and meals are excellent. The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and good transport to other places is readily available. The train station is a short distance away.

  Recommended as best business hotel in Mianzhou

  Mianzhou in Mianyang hotel is centrally located. The hotel has 300 rooms. In fast-moving China; the Mianzhou hotel seems to have come a bit out of date. The rooms have been freshly renovated but kept in heavy dark colors making a somber aspect. The light reflecting facade contributes to it. The bed is comfortable. The standard equipment includes a seating area with a couch and an armchair, an LCD TV, a well-functioning Internet and a kettle for making tea and coffee. Fresh fruits are placed in the room and some complementary nibble pastries. The room as well as the bathroom are spotless clean. The breakfast is suiting Chinese but not much Western taste. In the immediate neighborhood is a KFC, some fast food places and a lot of night clubs. Giving the large choice of pleasure aids, the hotel seems popular among Chinese business men looking for some escape. A popular Karaoke bar is placed inside the hotel.

  Comfortable clean

  Probably best hotel in mianyang in terms of comfort and cleanliness, good buffet breakfast, friendly and cost. Good value for Money and convenient location. They have also very famous Sichuan hotpot and succulent buffet brunch on weekends
