they claim 4* it is 3* at the mostit has the feeling of a hotel just about to close. minimum staff and walls stripped of any artwork. the check in was slow and laborious with what seemd to be an apprentice being the only staff, we went to teh bar, and even though there was a convention on only one bar staff serving teh food and trying to ru teh bar. it di not get better during the week, one staff on check in one staff running the bar, except during the weekend when this was reducced to one person. on Friday we felt sorry for the receptionist and stpped went out after one drink. she was trying to run the bar with 5 guests drinking, check in guests and organise taxis for guests going to the ball. this was made worse by there only being one small towel and one hand twel available per guest. she was being dragged up and down stairs to give the guests adequate towels to prepare for a night out. no snacks not even a bag of nuts on offer at teh bar, no music around the reception or bar the decoration was dated. and rooms very basic, not even a kettle to make a hot drink and the bar shut so coming in from -3 degrees was not a warming expereince. breakfast on the weekend was very limited, we were working all weekend and hoped to get a decent strt to teh day so we could miss lunch. we left hungry both days. dont expect an evening meal. but outside are lots of good restaurants. whats worse on sunday we transfered to Veinna to catch a early flight on Monday and we stopped at a 4* Marriot for the same price. it really showed the poor quality of teh Metropol.

Good for short stayLarge clean room with comfy bed. Small bar fridge inside room. The location of the hotel is a little out of the way but well within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious, there was almost every breakfast food available.

Very good hotel in St PoltenI led a party of 14 staying two nights in this hotel. From checking in, all the staff we met were excellent with smiles and friendliness and helpfulness and went about their jobs efficiently. The rooms were more than adequate and positioning near the town centre excellent.

Modern and comfortableAbout ten minutes walk (15 if your dragging a suitcase) from Sankt Polten Hbf Rail Station. They also have underground parking for which I believe there is a charge. Situated in a quiet square it offers all the comforts as it looks more like a business hotel. But I found my stay very relaxing and all the staff were extremely helpful and obliging providing a useful town map of this charming and maybe missed town. There is a cultural tour marked on this map which takes you past many buildings etc you might just miss, so do it and see what hidden gems there are. There is a good selection of restaurants within five to ten minutes walk away as the hotel does not serve evening meals. The main square just five minutes away has many restaurants lining the edge of the square. Beds comfortable, room quiet, and very clean, breakfasts good.
