Good location for a good price in Shanghai for up to four peopleIf you need a place to stay for up to four people in downtown shanghai (or very much near downtown) and don't want to spend more than 530 RMB per night for up to four people per night then this is the place. What you get is an apartment with 2 rooms, queen size bed and a single bed plus sofa in the dining/living room that can easily be used to sleep for kids. They provide extra beds for small extra fee. The kitchen is scarcely equipped with tools but can be used if you prepare in advance. Washing machine is also available. The location is convenient close to the golden temple area on Nanjing Xi Lu. The set breakfast is served in a Chinese Italian style restaurant on the ground floor, food is average, suggest to book without breakfast and cater yourself, little family marts are around the area. Staff is attentive but not really proactive. It's a most practical solution.

if not for location check other placesi lived quite some weeks in MP. the rooms are smallish, not as small as howard johnson at yan an, which i also checked, but anything but fancy, with a tiny bathroom and a micro second bedroom. the kitchen is surprisingly spacious, but not equipped at all. the cleaning is done, but not properly. what is not on the main route of cleaning, did not get attention for weeks or months, the furniture is old and pretty crappy, the bed / matrasse has a centre hole and the dvd-players are changed continously, as they have very old, lousy ones only, meaning to say a non working old-lousy one is replaced by a temporary working old-lousy one. most of the guests chose the place because they are working nearby as i do. for me there is no other reason as it is quite loud around here. from many of the rooms you can see yan an elevated road, so you should hear it from all of the rooms. and there is a substantial construction site nearby, which all appartments facing east should fully enjoy starting from 7am. doubtless it is handy to have da marco (italian restaurant) in the same building, but you must be desperate to go to the japanese bar, which is pricy and nothing else. staff is friendly but slow, english is bad, if any.

Good Hotel...Nice Clean Appartment...Tasty FoodStayed here for about 3 weeks...single occupancy...it's a 2 BHK with very small second bedroom(didn't use it)...views from the balcony were good...Kitchen was nice with some basic tools & dishes...washing machine was there with some detergent powder...Washroom wasn't that big but it was good...the room service doesn't include cleaning the used/dirty dishes so you have to do it yourself which didn't gel well with me...The reception staff was having difficulty in understanding English so it was hard for me to get any urgent help as i had to call up my Chinese friend and ash his help to translate my problem form English to Chinese and get the solution for me...this was the biggest negative point for me else i would have given 5 rating based on my experience

Renovations - service not to usual standardI generally love this place, but was very disappointed at my stay this past week. There was no bellman to help with my luggage. I had to pull it up the driveway from the street and down a laneway to the "entrance" during renovations. There is a makeshift reception area and a very long wait to be served. Then you go up 3 floors in the elevator, get off and walk down a winding and not-well-marked hallway to another elevator to finish the ride to your floor. Not fun after a long day of travel. These are 2 bedroom housekeeping units that I usually find quite homey. But this one reeked of sewer gas. And it had zilch for kitchen supplies. They usually supply laundry soap for the washing machine, but there was none in my room. So I used one of the bottled of shampoo from the bathroom. All in all, very disappointing this time. I hope it is not a sign of things to come.

still one of the best deals in shanghai for small families up to 3-4 peoplethis time we stayed 2 days, was overall very good, spacious 2 br, clean, as usual no breakfast, as you can prepare in the room, but no kitchen tools such as knives, forks, plates, so you have to bring, issue this time was the aircons were not producing enough heat, it was a very cold day outside and the rooms were very cold, not good for small children.
