Highly recommendedThe owner is very friendly, polite, responsible and helpful. He took care of totally organizing our visit, i.e. sending a taxi to meet us at the bus station, accommodation, tour to the Citadelle and Sans Souci, city tour, breakfasts, recommending an evening restaurant, and finally departure. Everything ran exactly according to our previous agreements, always on time and at a very reasonable price. The hotel itself even exceeded our expectations. Actually, to European standards, this is quite a basic hotel, but to Haitian standards it is well above excellent. We had all the required facilities like very clean and comfortable beds, clean room, wifi in the room, air conditioning (a bit weak, but OK), hot water with good pressure and a constant electricity supply. The towels were changed daily. The staff does not speak English (the owner speaks excellent English), but we had no problem because they were attentive and friendly and we managed to speak in a mixture of Spanish, English and a few French words.

Good price and clean!I guess it's very good for Cap Haitien where they have a lot of power and water outages! They have hot water, AC, and a priceless generator!!! I initially was in a room downstairs. It was a very reasonable size with a kitchen. The bad part is that it leads right in the front of the hotel. at 6am on a Saturday morning, the maintenance guy was using a blower to clean. I went out and complained. He didn't stop right away. I asked to change room for my 2nd last night and changed to a higher floor in an adjacent building way smaller but quieter. Local food BK served... Poor free wifi signal

Three nightsConsidering this is Haiti, for someone on a budget this is a good option. We speak creole, so not sure how this would be if I didn't speak Creole. Staff are very kind, but not always aware of what they should be doing to provide a foreigner good service. But on the plus side, the water was hot, it was relatively clean, the internet worked, as did the AC. Not a bad location since it is on the main road into the city. Several gas stations nearby. Breakfast was provided n time every morning.

Okay for the priceStayed here one night. The pros: hot water, good water pressure, no electricity blackout, small flat screen TV, AC unit. The cons: the free parking can fit probably 3 vehicles and if someone has to get out you will likely be disturbed-we were quite annoyed when a man knocked on our door at 12:30 am to announce that we needed to move the car so he could close the security gate, particularly since another worker had already directed our parking so that the gate could close. When questioned his colleague admitted that he hadn't even tried to close the gate; the wi-fi we were directed to use is unsecured and only worked when we were at the front desk, the front desk lady acted irritated when we asked why we couldn't use the secured Metro residences wi-fi that popped up; the toilet had a brownish-green material on the seat and behind it although the front desk woman had sent her colleague to check our 2nd floor room before we went up. (The rest of the room was clean.)

A Night's SleepPerhaps I am being a little mean in my rating. This is a classic of the type of hotel you can encounter when the owner decides it will be a good idea to list on overseas booking sites yet does not prepare the staff for the different type of customer this will attract. The first thing I was hit with was a demand for an extra $5 a night although I refused to pay this referring to my internet confirmation. As to the room, well it depends which one you get. My first was nearly a basement with one small window high up and was so badly lit it was impossible to read, the only light in the main area being for ornamental purposes. Only after I asked for more lighting was I changed to a much larger room which had the benefit of natural light in the day although the other lights were not impressive. The basic facilities were just that. good enough for a night's sleep. Despite its listing the hotel no longer serves food and it is necessary to shop locally. On reflection I would have chosen in a different part of town although nothing bad happened, the staff tried hard and I had the pleasure of conduction a conversation in Haitian creole via Google Translate!
