No repetiria

Satisfiedsearch it by traveloka, search filter : under idr 300k include breakfast.. just for a place to stay during work assigment there, only for a night... booked Executive King, With Breakfast for les then idr 300k, at that time, i think it was a low season, because i have serached for another date, costed over idr 300k. checked in in the afternoon, after my job is done, surprisingly, i have been around there couple months before, just to have friday prayer in the nearby big mosque. greeted by two friendly and well groomed front office staff, politely asked me my reservation details and my id off course, also fill out some identity forms, and in return i received a key card, that when i used it first time didn't worked, so i have to asked to front office staff, and eventually they gave me 2 key cards, in case one of them didn't worked again. entering the tidy and spacious room with 1 double bed,1 single bed, 1 person sofa, round table with electric kettle, and tv with working refrigerator , the electricity didn't the card to be functioned. checked the hot water, it worked fine, so i filled up the bath tub.. the aminities also standard : two tooth brush, 2 soap bar, 1 for hand and 1 for body, 1 bottle shampoo and conditioner and a shower cap, a hairdryer also available... checked the cupboard, a mini safe also available. The AC worked very fine, i got chills at night, so i have to turned off the AC. Finally i got asleep very early. woke up, have a bath, and went downstairs to have bnreakfast. the menu was also OK, considering the budget. the only minus was the reception was not so good but they have many cable programm. the interior also looked old But overall for me, it was worth the money spent, even more. addition : called housekeeping to borrow a prayer mat, and took just a little time to have it in my hand. one thing kinda bothers me, a call from the spa offering a promo while i sleeping. don't know what time it was, but i guess it was not so late, cause i slept early, remember?oh yes, wifi also superb

Unresponsive management, erratic room serviceLet's give you the good news first. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. However, I already had received an early warning that this hotel was poorly managed when the three messages that I sent prior to arrival (two were sent as messages via the Agoda system and the third was direct to the hotel's reservation@metrohotel.co.id email address) werent answered. I found the hotel's room service to be disorganised. Calls to the '117' room service number seemed to be diverted to Reception and I'd then have to wait ages for the receptionist to connect me to room service. On the first evening that I tried using room service, I asked for a banana split but was told that they were out of stock. On another evening, I ordered a vegetable curry and a bottle of beer. The curry arrived cold and, presumably because the serving tray had been tilted, with much of the sauce slopped from the plate onto the tray. Also, the garnish of raisins mentioned in the room service menu was missing. But the amateurishness didn't end there. After the waiter left, I noticed that I couldnt drink my beer because no bottle-opener had been provided. I called room service again and was amazed to learn that the waiter couldnt lend me or use a bottle opener. Instead, he came back to the room, took the bottle away to open it, and then returned it to me. What a ridiculous palaver! On the last night, when I dialled 117, a sleepy voice answered, said something in Bahasa, and hung up. When I checked out, I asked to speak to the manager about the last nights incident. I was told that there was no manager on duty (which I find hard to believe). So, I put my complaint in writing and requested a reply within three days. Now, four days later, no reply. So, at least the management is consistent with its unresponsiveness! One other sign of poor management. The curtains to the room didnt close fully. My guess is that this fault had been there, unattended to, for quite a long time. But, to be fair, it was promptly rectified after I reported it. However, the repair was a bodge, with it no longer being possible to open the left-hand curtain. I hope to visit Semarang again. It was my first time there and I liked it. But I dont intend staying again in this shambolic hotel.
