  Perfect venue for an Italian Wedding Reception and traditional Italian accomodation

  We visited 6 hotels in Paestum when deciding on a location for our wedding reception and the Meridiana was the best by far. The service from the owner Arianna was outstanding. Catering for all my needs and always more than happy to help with queries or show me around the hotel when I had additional queries. I was concerned that living in England would make the planning process tricky but Arianna and the staff made it simple and stress free. The wedding reception meal was absolutely impeccable and the guests were thrilled with the wedding reception. We chose to have a 12 course wedding reception and not one of the courses was a disappointment. Most of the guests were Italian and they were all happy with the service and food. Five of our guests travelling from outside of Italy stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and loved the tradition Italian decor and their bedrooms. When someone asked for extra pillows (due to a neck problem) the staff delivered them to the room straight away. Some of our friends visited the private beach down the road and commented on how beautiful the sandy beach is. To sum it up I would recommend the Meridiana Hotel as a hotel and venue to hold an event. I am very excited about returning next year to celebrate my first wedding anniversary.

  Great one night stopover

  We stayed here one night last week on a whistle-stop tour en route from Rome to Puglia. The English speaking staff were extremely welcoming and explained the opening times of the pools and the beach club. The grounds and pools are very well maintained and attractive and we were able to enjoy both. Even though we were checking out at 11, staff were more than willing to store our bags until 5 allowing us to make full use of the pool and their access to a private beach club for the day. We had a family room with 2 double beds and a sofa bed and a balcony overlooking the pool, very comfortable and spacious, a little old fashioned in decor but beds very comfy. Breakfast was delicious with fresh pasties, cakes, yogurts and good coffee, although tea not so good. We would definitely stay here again.

  A good hotel with an amazing pool

  Hotel Meridiana in Paestum is a modern hotel with good facilities. The hotel has beautiful grounds but the most amazing feature of the hotel is its swimming pool which is large (~25m) clean and well kept. We stayed at the hotel in June 2014 mid week and found it very quiet which was great. Given that there werent many guests staying at the hotel during that period, there was no buffet breakfast available but were able to order anything we wanted for breakfast and were served well. We found that the air conditioning in our room did not work well so make sure you check this aspect. The hotel is about two km away from the local beach but they have beds and umbrellas at the loval beach and will give you a pass that allows free access to the beach facilities. We had a car so this was not an issue for us. The local beach itself is very nice, clean with good facilities. The hotel staff were very helpful, welcomed us and made good suggestions for restaurants. We would go back to the hotel but would make sure we stay in a room with a working air conditioning.

  Event

  I had an event in there 2 weeks ago....it was amazing....I am from Australia and we organised everything on internet and i couldn't ask for any better.....love every detail!!!thank you so much for everything....from the Lido Tuffatore to the hotel....the food was one of the best i've tried!!!!

  Did not live up to expectations

  The hotel was very clean, and well located, and staff at check-in were lovely. However, the photos displayed on multiple sites did not reflect reality. While the lobby was fresh and bright, rooms on the second level had not been renovated for a number of years. Sofas and chairs were from the 1980s (over-sized leather, odd colours). Bedding was polyester. The aircon unit did not respond to controls - one night freezing us out, the other night causing us to overheat. Breakfast was disappointing - especially for being in Campania where one expects excellent food. Coffee was industrial from a machine, and no fresh juice - only that from concentrate and overly sweet. Worst of all, though, was that on Saturday the pool was closed for no apparent reason. We were offered a free pass to the beach club as consolation; however, upon arrival the beach club was so full that there was no space for us. We opted instead to pay for Lido Kennedy, where we were exceptionally well treated. The hotel has great potential; but needs an overhaul in both design and service.
