  A Typical Old Style Country Japanese Hotel

  The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the ocean and has great views of the ocean, the Hashigui-Iwa rock formation and Oshima Island.It is old and old fashioned although the people are great and they have a large hot pool/ If you are traveloing this part of japan you cannot do much better than to saty here.

  Great ocean views, outdoor baths but showing it age

  This is a good spot for a one-night stay if you are exploring the ruggedly beautiful southern tip of Honshu. It is a grand old lady of a hotel overlooking the ocean, with huge rooms (Room 907) though the decor can be a bit old fashioned. There is a large indoor bath and a great outdoor one overlooking the sea. The multi-course Japanese dinner with beef was very good though the buffet breakfast was only average. Only some of the rooms are non smoking.

  Cant Fault This Hotel

  We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and had no issues at all. Many reviewers have commented on the age of this hotel, but it is in quite good condition compared with other Daiwa properties weve stayed at in the past and the age of the property didn't make an impression at all. The room we stayed in was a family room with 2 single beds, as well as a tatami area. The beds were a bit hard, but the futons were very thick and comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom offered several amenities, such as Shiseido bath and hair products, combs, toothbrushes, q-tips, and so on. Being from North America, Ive always been shocked to have to pay for a hotel amenity like a pool, but this one had a nominal fee of 250 yen for children and 500 yen for adults and so it didnt bother me too much. You can also buy beer and other beverages on the pool deck, and the views of the ocean are incredible. The best part of this hotel is the Kuroshio Onsen, which has a large indoor bath as well as a beautiful outdoor bath with views of the hashiguiiwa and ocean. Beware that upon checkout, you will have to pay a bath tax. I dont know how that is calculated, but there were 4 of us for 2 nights and we were charged 600 yen In total. The breakfast buffet was well done, although they seemed to always run out of things like pancakes, fruit salad, and juice. The ume-boshi were particularly delicious and I bought some from the well-appointed gift shop upon our departure. We cant fault the service and cleanliness of this place and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Kushimoto.

  Very nice sea view onsen hotel

  Very nice onsen hotel, Sea view room non smoking. we reserved with half board option for 2 nights, dinners were nice JAPANESE style, first night with beef sabusabu and second night with seafood. Buffet breakfast, nice coffee. Very large onsen place. There is live music entertainment every night at 8:30-9:00, highly recommend.

  A beautifully situated hotel ideally situated for exploring this fascinating coastline and historical inland sites.

  We spent 8 days at the hotel in July 2018, rented a small car from the excellent local Toyota garage and explored all the coastline between Shirahama and Shingu as well as the inland temples, shrines and rivers. The view of the whole of the bay from our 9th floor window was spectacular, the room was spacious and well equipped, maintained the usual high standard of Japanese cleanliness and the staff were pleasant and helpful. What more could you want? I am not an onsen fan, but my wife who is thought that it was very good. Having said that, I enjoyed using it and the check-in lady was so charming and that it was worth a visit just to talk to her. The outdoor hotel pool was closed (pre-season) but there is an indoor 25m pool a few hundred metres away and a very nice safe beach with changing facilities, cafe etc about 1 km away. Would we like to go to Kushomoto again. Yes. Would we stay at this hotel? Yes..
