  Short stay.

  Stayed at mercure for one night.staff at hotel were warm and a very nice welcome.Hotel very clean and the room well prepared.One of the best beds I have slept in.Very good location for area.Parking excellent and good food service.

  Good Place-could still do better

  Booked for 2 nights at very short notice. The welcome was warm, profession and efficient. Covid rules explained. Room on 2nd floor was very clean. Comfy bed, large TV and good shower. Aircon was a great feature. Breakfast could be taken in restaurant or room.- Hot sausage/egg panini, fruit, juice, cereals etc- really good. Amy served and did a great job. Hotel had a large car park free for guests. Hotel in walking distance of main shopping centre. Hand sanitizers in reception area. Things that need improving- Even with signs saying Face Mask Mandatory in public areas- guests ( workman guests in high-vis jackets and protective boots ) just ignored this rule- i questioned someone on reception who shrugged her shoulders- Not acceptable- All guests are informed on arrival,so just tell the guests not to ignore the rules!!! This was not about someone forgetting or making a mistake which we all do. Small pool is restricted to 6 people so don't let 7 in- simple. Ensure young lad looking after pool reception area etc, better trained and more informative to guests.

  A pleasant stay, marred by one incident!

  Positives: - Clean hotel overall - room was clean - responded via WhatsApp to request for additional towels. - relatively COVID secure - really comfortable pillows (In fact they were gorrrrrgeous)! - a really nice member of staff who served us a few drinks at the bar. Negatives: - Was one member of staff who we found to be a bit unnecessarily difficult when we asked if we could have a set of cutlery to enjoy our takeaway. She initially refused to issue any and made a point of saying that some other hotels did not allow you to bring in takeaway. She did however, at no point said that was the rule of this establishment. My wife and I thought this to be unnecessarily oppositional but the member of staff did eventually issue the disposable cutlery (due I assume to her own realisation of how silly she was being). - TV sound cut out at 11pm'ish, but could be a blessing in disguise as it meant an early night (however wife has just said she was upset because it meant she could not watch The Cube)!!

  Sheikh Alim Business Stay

  Nice clean room. Good value. Near amenities. Good receptionist. Unfortunately due to Vovid-19 issues the gym and spa was not open. My room was a little noisy due outside canopy. Would recommend again. Pleasant.

  Lovely escape

  A great couple of days, bed comfortable, room lovely and clean. Good clear signage throughout the hotel in regard to social distancing and one way systems with lots of hand gel throughout. There's a bar and restaurant but can't really comment on that (or the pool and gym) as we didn't use them. There's a few places to sit in to relax in a reception and the lounge. Friendly easy going staff. Perfect location for visiting Telford, Shrewsbury and Ironbridge.
