Overall Nice StayDuring my two stays at this hotel, my room had a comfortable bed, OK air conditioning, and OK Wi Fi. There was no safe in my room during the first stay, but there was one in my room during the second stay. Hot water was sporadic, but sleep comfort was important. Unfortunately, this hotel has unrealized potential due to its poor maintenance. Restaurant staff was friendly, but the service was uneven, and the food sometimes arrived undercooked. Overall, though, a nice stay in N'Djamena.

Solid Hotel in N'DjamenaI was generally pleased with the service provided by the hotel. I really appreciated their efforts to coordinate an airport transfer where the staff member actually went INTO the airport to pick me up, assist me with immigration/baggage formalities and customs clearance. They did the same thing for me when I was leaving Chad, getting the driver to assist with outgoing formalities, passport checks and check in. Kudos to Mercure for that! In terms of the hotel itself, the room was very comfortable and everything worked well. The dinner at the hotel was good, although I would have liked to see a slightly larger variety of food on the restaurant menu (there are only about 5 or 6 options to choose from). Another slight downside was the Wi-fi, which was very slow and not something I was expecting from an international brand like Mercure. In terms of the general service provided, staff at the hotel were very friendly throughout the duration of my stay, and made me feel very welcome in Chad. Check in and check out were a breeze, and I appreciate the hotel's efforts to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Keep up the good work, Mercure.

ComfortableStayed 4 nights here in 2 different rooms. The first, for 3 nights, was definitely better. I never had actual hot water here, more like warm water. In the 2nd room turning on the taps produced a black sludge that took a while to clear. Aircon in the 1st room worked well. In the 2nd it was noisy and worked poorly. The wifi connection is tricky, falling off often and requiring frequent sign in. It is not strong enough to connect through to certain links. The rooms were quiet, beds comfortable. Each room has a kettle, tea and coffee, a hairdryer in the bathroom, room safe and toiletries. There is no lift. Food in the restaurant was good, lunch and dinner options are the same, portions large, service is sometimes slow. There is a pool and river views but as the river forms the border with Cameroon we were told not to photograph it. There is security around the hotel, the area is full of embassies and UN buildings and it felt safe to wander around. Photos cannot be taken of or in the direction of the presidential palace. Little English is spoken except at hotel reception but people were generally friendly both in and outside the hotel. You can exchange money at reception. The rate is better at the airport. There are alot of security checks at the airport on departure. A pleasant and comfortable stay all told.
