Good price/value - need to change carpet urgently

We stayed at this hotel since it has a pool and was offered for a good price. The pool was clean and well maintained. Our rooms were relatively large and were totally ok except that the carpet - as everywhere in the hotel - needs to be changed urgently.

    The best place in Japan

This hotel is located little far away from the main city but near to the sea and other beauties of Japan. The hotel offer you a free raid each and every day to the main railway station three times a day. So, this is a wonderful place for those who like the nature and enjoy the days in Japan while go there and here for shopping. The service is really wonderful and the rooms are quite big and enough for entire family even.

Overpriced room even in Christmas season

In mid-November I booked for 6 nights from 20th to 26th December at around HKD1,900 per night although knowing that normally the room price of this hotel should be HKD 500-1000 per night. But I have no choice as all hotels in Fukuoka area were fully booked already. The location of this hotel is quite far from Fukuoka downtown with distance of more than 37 km and every single journey I needed to drive for about 1.5 hours so the hotel information mentioning that the distance between Fukuoka and the hotel being 20 km is inaccurate. The hotel condition was old so there were plenty of stains on wall and carpet. The staff were very polite as always carrying with smile but only very few staff could really communicate in English. When I made the booking I mentioned that one day in our stay was our 24th Wedding Anniversary and I wanted to celebrate with my wife in the hotel but unfortunately there was no any response or follow up with my case. Very disappointing especially I paid double for the room nights. Maybe they just not know what I wrote, who knew! Anyway, a quiet old hotel with less than 50% occupancy over the Christmas time though its Japanese spa was good (at any time less than 10 persons in one occasion around 9 p.m. I could occupy the entire spa area by oneself) I will rather select another hotel for our stay when we visit Fukuoka again in future.

Perfect for family vacay w/kids & elderly parents

The staff is very nice (as any Japanese in the service industry), but their English is so limited that restricts them from giving guests all the information they need to know, like the restaurants' working hours/days or that you have to pay to use the pool and even the onsen (hot springs) which we only found out when checking out by googling its meaning. And I guess that's why no one replied my mail asking about shuttle bus service or hot tubs in the room. The hotel has like five restaurants, a bar, and a tea lounge, but only the latter is open every day, while the others take turns to open. Not only their operating hours are extremely limited, but also you need to check every day which one is open and make reservations beforehand. The tea lounge is right next to the pool and sells draft beer, but won't let you bring the food outside, which is quite a bummer when you're on vacation and just want to chill by the pool eating some pizza and beer. No complementary water in the room and you have to pay for everything: pool, onsen, bicycles... Their breakfast was surprisingly good with American options, such as bacon, pancake, scrambbled eggs, as well as with Japanese dishes. It's a small and quiet town where most restaurants close after lunch and they also close very early in the evening. So get used to having dinner before 8PM and if you're going out for lunch make sure to leave before noon or eat at the hotel, since by the time you find a place to eat it will be late.

    Good place to relax

Japan's Emperor Akihito turned 85 years old on Sunday 23rd. It became public holiday in Japan celebrating Emperor's Birthday. To enjoy day off, we planned to stay at Royal Hotel Munakata which is located on the coast of the Genkai sea and is home to some splendid views. Surprisingly, we found out that Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko already paid a visit here last year October 29th. Free pickup and drop off service. The room is very cozy and comfortable. The onsen is great with fresh natural hot water. The hotel serves breakfast as well but these foods are very normal, simple tastes and nothing makes it special. From this hotel, we walked to the beach nearby and enjoyed the great sea view.
