    Perfecto!

    Espectacular servicio, buen equipo

Destacar el excelente servicio por parte del equipo, en especial de Gennaro, muy servicial y sonriente, además de dominar el español a la perfección. Resaltar también el abundante desayuno. Sólo un pero, queda un poco apartado.

Avoid unless you love kids and want to travel back in time

Be aware that although badged as a Mercure property (I would expect Accor to soon 'unbadge' the property) it is also known as Cortina Family Hotel and Spa. I've researched the property at some length before coming here and thought "ok, so it'll clearly be dated, but I'm sure it'll won't be that bad". I'm not a 5 star snob, we stay in property of all grades, but I made a big mistake giving this place a chance. We had booked a 'privilege' room, yet appear to have been given a standard room. The only difference between the 2 appears to be that the 1 room is slightly larger to facilitate a bunk bed for children. The rooms are small, made worse by a strange wooden shelf about 45 cms deep that encircles the bed and balcony area and thus further reduces the space available. The bathroom is tiny, the shower is just a tray in the corner with a foldable screen which doesn't fit the size of the tray. The toilet doesn't have a conventional flush, but you turn a tap which just pours water into the toilet bowl with any power whatsoever, so not only does this use loads of water but also it is hard for anything to go down - toilet paper just swirls around the bowl until it eventually breaks down. We ended up using the communal toilets near the restaurant because they are the only ones that flush properly. We asked (I'm a longstanding Accor member but received no free drink voucher or any recognition here) if a bigger room was available (like a larger room without a bunk bed) and were told that all the rooms are identical. That isn't true. The breakfast is average at best, and I certainly wouldn't consider dining here. During the week the hotel is 'dead', the pizzeria only opens at weekends, there's no-one in the restaurant, and I heard someone ask reception if someone could serve them at the bar. At weekends it is a different story, clearly Italian families come with their young kids and stay for 1 or 2 nights, with the emphasis of the hotel offer all about kids, reflected in the alternative branding of Cortina Family Hotel. As others have said (and it is something we'd expected and isn't that much of an issue as we have a car) there is absolutely nothing for adults to do around the hotel, other than go for a walk. It is a 2 star property. How and when it was ever rated as a 4 star I do not know. What positives are there ? - the wifi is stable and reasonable. The staff are polite. The views are very good. The parking is free. I didn't expect much for the price we paid, although I am unhappy that we booked 3 months in advance during the Accor private sales and yet had I booked via the Accor website the night before we arrived it would have been cheaper !. To me it is simply unacceptable that a toilet in a room can be so useless that guests are forced to use the communal toilets. We will never return, and I've complained to Accor about being misled by reception that all rooms are identical, the toilet, and the fact I've essentially been 'conned' by paying a higher price when booking 3 months in advance during a supposed members only 'sale'. I can only hope Accor disassociate themselves with this hotel quickly and/or the 4 star of the hotel is evaluated again. if you want to go back to a school trip in the 1970's then this is the place for you...if you want a respectable standard of accommodation then don't stay here.

    Quality/price not acceptable

The rooms are old and toilet dosn't have the box for shower (80s style). Check-in at 3 p.m. and check out at 10 a.m. is not even possible to experience in New York. In the evening we wanted to sit at the fire and a worker told us that we couldn't add any log. Therefore, to check if we were respecting the intimidation, he was all the time looking at us like criminal.

    A 1 Star experience

Old-fashioned hotel, very simple service and not assigned to a 4-star hotel. Management is unable to successfully address billing. In 5 nights, the sheets have not changed, the same for those in the bathroom!
