    "Poor simple room"

We choosed Merapi hotel because of the cheap price offered by online booking website. But the total value almost same with the actual price. The bed was nice, the blanket smells good to, but the bathroom is kinda terrible. I'd never felt like taking bath there, and the smells of the bathroom will spread into your room right away. Nice place to stay, not close with malioboro since it's about the end of alley, but close to minimarket and cafe.

Bad, but have already seen worse

We arrived in Yogyakarta at 3 a.m. and were just glad to get a room. The bedroom was more or less ok, but the bathroom was dirty and smelled very intensively and this horrible odor spread into the bedroom. Since the owner's friends were sleeping in the lobby of the hostel and apparently were having breakfast in the corridors, it was always very noisy in the morning. I just can't recommend this hostel. In my opinion it is worth it to pay a bit more in order to get a pleasant room in a 'normal' hotel.

Not the worst hotel I have stayed in...but getting close

Dreadful. Probably one of the least enjoyable nights I have ever spent in a hotel. We booked this as a cheap option, not realising how simple the hotel was. I mean bless the staff they were very nice, but when we turned up at 2am from Jakarta, we had to get a lady to show us through the winding back streets to even get there. There is pretty much no chance of you finding this place by yourself. When we turned up, the restaurant/kitchen area was full of men asleep on matresses on the floor, which was a bit disconcerting. We were lead to a room which was the bare minimum of a bed. I don't recall having pillows or bedsheets or towels. The temperature was about 30 and humid even at night, and there was a fan on the wall, however this fan made such a loud noise it was impossible to sleep. But without it on, the heat meant it was impossible to sleep...so we didn't really get much rest at all. The bathroom left much to be desired but was bearable. It was the sort of place where you flush the loo with a plastic tub. To have a shower, you ran the water from a tap on the floor in to a bucket and then used the same loo flushing device to pour water on your head. The staff were sweet and they made us an amazing breakfast the next day of eggs and bread. They also looked after our stuff for the night whilst we went to a hotel in Borobodur and supplied us with a couple of small bars of soap and a sachet of shampoo each.

Dirty and poor value for money

We hasn't booked anywhere and came here out of the blue. It cost 130,000 rupiah for 1 night in a room with a fan. The electricity socket was downright dangerous and coming out of the wall despite the attempts to sellotape it. The shower was broken. There were ants everywhere. I'm pretty sure we hadn't got fresh sheets. The whole place was dirty. If they charged 80,000 a room it would be worth it. The breakfast was average and the WiFi was good. It did have a good location altho as with most places we were woken up by the mosque at 4 and it is also directly underneath the flight path from the airport.

    Budget Backpackers hotel

This hotel is just nice for me sleep and continue my journey. Rooms were fairly clean and friendly workers. Whoever want to stay comfortable, this is not the place. Budget travellers can consider to read this hotel review before buying online.
