  Good Hotel, Wonderful Location...

  2 couples (50+) on this last minute trip on a B&B basis. The buffet breakfast is a selection of hot and cold food with a variety of breads. There is a good selection of restaurants and bars in the area although the season was coming to an end on our visit -14 to 21 Sept. The Hotel commands stunning views across to the causeway towards old Nessebar and the whole bay. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the Wedding on the 20th demonstrated the Bulgarians know how to party!!. The exterior areas would benefit from some TLC. Happy to return to this area and Hotel.

  Fantastic Location for both old and new Nessebar

  The Hotel Menabria is located straight across from the walkway to Old Nessebar. It is at the conjunction of two roads but the trees and gardens screen the pool and eating area away from the traffic. From the moment we arrived till the day we left we were made to feel very welcome by the hotel staff. They were very helpful and polite. We only had one issue with clean towels but after mentioning this to the chap on reception, he advised that there had been a problem with the washing service but it was fixed and from then on we had fresh towels every day. The rooms (including bathroom) were clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. If you go out you see the walkway to Old Nessebar, if you turn right and walk along the coast a short way you arrive at Nessebar beach, which is far superior to anything Sunny Beach can offer. It is clean and the sea is amazing, so warm even at the latter part of september! Just behind the beach is the couple of streets that comprise the main part of New Nessbar, a great place for cheap food and drink. The locals are quite friendly despite looking a little forbidding at times and seem to appreciate it when you thank them in Bulgarian (Dobro Utro). This was a fantastic hotel for the price. Old Nessebar is a lovely quaint and interesting town. Well worth investigating before you decide on a place to eat. Probably wise to avoid Lazzane to the right of the walkway as you reach Old Nessebar, the food is below average and the service almost non existant. However the wine is very tasty. Towards the "little Prague" area is the Bulgarian Kitchen which has exquisite food and super friendly service. When I go back I will probably stay nearer Nessebar beach but this is no reflection on the Menabria which myself and my girlfriend really really enjoyed. Do not listen to any of the scare stories you may hear of Bulgaria, these all refer to Sunny Beach which we did visit once. It was horrible, dirty, smelly and expensive. Go to Nessebar and have a fantastic sunny holiday :o)
