  Beautiful resort, a few rough edges

  We stayed one night as part of a cycling trip. The resort is nestled in the forest and beautiful, and our room was lovely - spacious and well appointed, if simple and a little bare. The pool was a distance from our room, and we didn't realize we had to get drinks at the main restaurant and there were no towels at the pool, but it was a nice pool. The service was very friendly, and food was good (we had dinner and breakfast there), although there wasn't a ton of variety. Because it was nestled in the wilderness, there were lots of frogs, lizards, centipedes, and other 'wildlife' around and slipping in and out of our room for visits. It's also a bit off the beaten path, so nothing else is walking distance if you want to explore the nearby town or eat elsewhere. A great spot for someone who wants to be in the wilderness and maybe spend a little more time, maybe not a great one night stay en route for somewhere else.

  Never again

  I dont understand so many positive reviews for Memoria. It is hardly a resort - its completely run down and poorly managed. Staff were pleasant but were clearly untrained and unprofessional (drinking on the job!). Breakfast was cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately this is one of the nicer hotels in the area so not many other options. The only thing they have going to for the rustic location. Glad I was only there for one night.

  Ok for a night

  Stayed here as part of a cycle tour. The room was huge with a very big bed but unfortunately the mattress was super hard. Huge bathroom with only shower gel, so make sure you have shampoo etc. The pool was big but in need of some attention as it was run down. Food was ok in the evening but breakfast very limited. Staff do need a little more training and to be aware of how to treat guest luggage, but I guess its an area where people still have a lot to learn about tourism and guest expectations. The location is stunning, in the woods by a river with plenty of wildlife.

  Spice Roads Bike Trip

  This resort was so cute. Great location. Out in the forest down a gravel road. The air was fresh.Large rooms with great big windows. A pool that was relaxing with poolside beers. Super friendly staff. Good dinner. They decorated the place for Christmas it was great!

  paradise tucked away in the hills

  We had such a lovely time at Memoria, If you are looking for a nature based retreat with friendly service, simple authentic Khmer food, spacious but simple rooms then this is the place! We are expats living in Cambodia so were able to visit when the resort was quiet (due to Covid-19). It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, as though we had stumbled upon a forgotten paradise in the middle of a forest! We would love to come back again!
