Will be happy to go back

Stayed for two weeks with my family at Michelangelo Village in august 2012. We had an apartment with two bedrooms and a kitchen. Beds are a bit hard, which we expected, but no more than we could live with. We had a nice balcony, quite large. In the kitchen we cooked breakfast and usually lunch, went out for dinner every night. 10-15 minutes walk to town with plenty of restaurants. Our favourite was Dons bar & restaurant, in a side-street to the main street, on the road to hotel Philippos. For a rather large hotel we were very happy that it was nice and quiet, and we had no problem getting good sleep. Air condition is extra, and worked great, although we did not have the possibility to choose temperature. It was fixed at 23 degrees, and made our nights great. Rooms are simple, and to be honest cleaning could be better. The pools are spread around and there was no problem getting sunbeds. Often we had an enitre pool to ourselves, which the children really loved. Tiles are coming off the pool next to the reception, but our kids loved diving for them, and we didn't see it as a problem. Supermarket has reasonnable prices, and we really loved the lady working there. We would love to go back. Also the people working at reception were really nice and helpful. The downside - it's a bit far to town and the beaches. Like I said cleaning could also be better. Kitchen is a bitt small workspace, hard to acutally cook anything, but then again we did not go there to spend our holiday cooking. Breakfast and lunch were sandwiches of some kind. The upside - great pools, nice and quiet, not much noise from neighbouring apartments, nice people and a beautiful resort.

Don't expect too much and you'll be fine.

Recently returned from 2 weeks at the Michelangelo and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Kassiopi. The Michelangelo Village is a large resort spread on across both sides of a small road, it was a 25-30min walk down the road to Avlaki and at the top of the road past the Supermarket a 10min walk downhill to Kassiopi. We stayed in a self-catering, ground floor studio apartment (213) so can't comment on the food. The apartment was basic; two single beds placed together, self-catering facilities were just about adequate, two ring cooker, toaster, kettle and pots and pans. The main problem was the fridge was very noisy and kept us awake most nights. A/C and Safety Deposit boxes cost extra (E5 per day for the AC and E1 for the boxes) The reception staff were a bit of a mixed bag; one of the staff was very helpful pleasant, the other didn't seem bothered at all. Our room was on the ground floor so, no balcony, and we were at the end of the block next to a DIY yard which was a bit noisy in the mornings. Overall The Michelangelo Village is a decent, if basic, resort well placed on the edge of Kassiopi.

    St Spiridon Hotel Apartments

My sister and I stayed at St Spiridon in Michaelangelo village for a week this september. It is basic accomodation but perfectly functional as you will be out most of the time anyway. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony which faced the road and another small balcony at the front. The rooms were fine with plenty of storage space. The kitchen had a fridge, hob and kettle but only the fridge was used, mostly filled with water and cheese! The bathroom floods from the shower but it's not the end of the world, you don't really notice after a while anyway. We had a maid service every day with clean towels and fresh bedding ( Sarah the english maid was lovely and very helpful with info on the area). There are negative reviews on this place on trip advisor but we were content with it and you get what you pay for after all. We found Flora, the owner helpful and polite. The village has 2 supermarkets and a nice taverna opposite called Mythos. There is a beach a few minutes walk away. The main town of Kassiopi is an easy walk for the evenings, and we definitely recommend a visit to Kostas Bar for the greek dancing - it's on every night around 10pm. The town also has lots of nice places to eat, and Jasmine Bar for those who fancy a spot of karaoke. All in all, we were very happy with our holiday, the accomodation is basic self catering but clean and quiet, and the people are lovely and welcoming. We would be happy to recommend St Spiridon for a quiet and well situated place to enjoy all Kassiopi has to offer.

My favourite place in the whole world

I have stayed here twice & I think it's the perfect place for a sunny holiday. My heart lives in kassiopi its self, & the Michelangelo village is the best place to stay, close to a secluded little beach & about a half hour walk to the main harbour with plenty bars & restaurant! I couldn't rate this place any higher than I do. I love it. It's a peaceful quiet corner of the world with a relaxed laid back atmosphere.

Good apartments for a family holiday

Stayed here in 2000 with my family. We loved that everything was so close, shops. restaurants, swimming pool and beach. It is basic accommodation but your out most of the day therefore you don't need anything too fancy. We have a 1 bedroom apartment one the ground floor. Swimming pool was close to apartments so me and my sister could go and our parents could check on us. Lots to do around, such as pool tables, food and you can hire tennis rackets. Beach is a few minutes walk and is very quite. The water is warm.
