    GUTTED AS STARTED SO LOVELY

My friend and i visited this hotel about 2 weeks ago! Our stay started of wonderful, Andy was very helpful in opening the bar early for us and also allowing us to go into our room early! It was our first time visiting the isle of wight and we enjoyed it very much. However we were unimpressed with the customer service we received from andy at the end of our stay. During our stay we had noticed one of the plugs in our room was slightly damaged, it wasnt until we had tried to plug something into the socket next to it that the whole plug proceeded to fall of the wall. We did not report it as there was plenty of other plugs within the room for us to use. As soon as we had left we received a call from Andy explaining he had found the plug socket damaged. My friend proceeded to tell him the story regarding the plug, to which he told her she was lying! we both work in holiday parks and we were completely shocked to how we had been spoken too!!!! Andy then asked us to pay for the price for it to be fixed when in fact we hadnt broken it as it was found broken! The price wasnt a lot but its the principle being asked to pay for something that was not our fault! Completely ruined our stay as we were left disappointed!!!

    Spa break October

I have read others reviews about this hotel, but I have to say we had a great 3 night stay Our room was spotless, warm and comfortable, not huge but its only for sleeping in Bathroom was spotless and well supplied with good towels and spa products All the staff were very helpful and friendly We had treatments with the lovely spa ladies which we both enjoyed and we made use of the indoor pool etc, again very clean and well kept I agree the hotel is a bit dated but that was no problem for us. It was a great base to explore the island. Thank you Andy and Noel for your good service. We will be back

    Budget Hotel at Luxury Price

There is something rather sinister about this establishment, especially now I have read how other customers have been shabily treated. We still joke about this place which makes Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz. The photos on the website are nothing like the Four Poster room we were given, which was like something from the 70's, but cheap and nasty (pine and net curtains), and extremely expensive at £140 per night!!!! The sleeve was hanging off my "complimentary robe" which was security tagged. The experience here was hell, and we were lucky enough to get a room in the Trouville for the rest of the holiday for a fraction of the cost. Unmanned reception, no lights on, and locked out at 10.00 pm. The fact that the manager argues with every negative comment put on Trip Advisor, tells you something about how customers are valued.

    OK

I don't feel welcome. It wasn't dirty or full of dust of her broken furniture it wasn't rude awful a horrible stuff like some of these reviews are that wasn't my experience I just didn't feel welcome that's all maybe it's just changed or maybe it's just something to do with the coronavirus but I didn't feel as welcome as normal.

Fav hotel but its changed so much

This was my favourite hotel on the iseland outright. I loved the quiet atmospheer I loved how much space you would get to yourself when sitting in the outdoor pools or laying on the desk chair inside. I am not one to judge harashly and I've always given this place top marks and in some odd way I've always felt at home here. Our last trip which wqs a while ago didn't go as it usually does. The outside pools were closed off I prescume because at the time the hotel had new ownership and it was being updated. New tiles in the pools etc... Our room hadn't been completely cleaned when we moved into it. Reception were notified and it was sorted, it wasn't a big deal. It was apart from a dirty diah just fine. Bed was comfortable, plentyful pillows, we had a kettle, small tv and the usual things you would come to expect from any high ish end establisgment these days. In all the rooms we have been in, we had a modern bathroom which looked breand new and extremely clean. I didn't see the issue with the hot water, you just need to wait 30 seconds at quieter colder times of the year as its an old building. It really isn't the problem people make out to be on hee. The pool water is fine. Again I don't know why people are complaining about it. We spent ours in the jecuzzi, the sauna (both of them) and they do work. The staff are friendly and the food is good. We loved our breakfast and unless I was not picking couldn't find anything wrong with it. We really enjoyed our dinner. you do have to ringt he bell at quieter times. I think its just an island thing its a very quiet hotel and they manage on very few staff and they do just fine considering this is the case. The new owner is actually a really nice guy but he doesn't exactly show it on here and I don't l know why. We gave consructive honest feedback to him to his face and he was grateful for it. I dunno... Our only real issue waa that moeny was taken from my credit card during our stay. I didn't give permission and it left me unable to do anything else until we got it sorted. We had paid for the hotel up front and we always email / call the hotel and pay before we come so we didn't ow anything. It really upset me. We loved it here. I hope the hotel can settle itself down becaue we would like to return again x
