    Mellington hall caravan park stay

When you look at the price at £30 a night for electric hook up only and a facilities block that needs updating (we didn't use the showers due to personal preference) it is over priced, but dont let that put you off. The pitches are ample sized and the staff are very friendly. What you are paying for is the beautiful grounds of the hall. From the mile drive from the road (due to this you do not hear any noise on the site) passing through stunning parkland with woodlands, the entrance to the park is breathtaking. The Hall itself is a stunning gothic style mansion hotel, bar and restaurant. There are statics and holiday homes on site There is a children's park and football area situated well away from the touring site and also a lovely fishing pool free to park users. There are 2 woodland walks clearly sign posted on site which take advantage of the fantastic scenery and the ancient trees that are on the site. The site was so peaceful and relaxing, even with children on site plus dog friendly. The grounds are extremely well kept and a pleasure to walk around. Due to Covid restrictions the restaurant wasn't open but takeaway food was available and drinks on the patio area. Looking forward to going again next year.

    Post Covid

Very easy to book and Dawn (Manager) followed up by mobile for a few additional requests. Thank you so much. Denise, gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our rooms, check in absolutely painless and a table automatically reserved for us as well. It is a beautiful setting with plenty of walks, (dogs can stay too £5 / day). The rooms were different, rm 7 very nice got the feel recently redecorated and furnished, rm 8 slightly older. Both very, clean tidy all the usual tea coffee shampoo etc. There is a caravan resort behind the hotel with many coming into for bar and food. Plenty of rooms and quiet corners / sofas if you want peace and quiet. The menu was restricted(see attached) presumably 're covid. The curry was disappointing but the brie wedges superb. We didn't have pudds. Breakfast all included in the price was very good, I just wish I'd had more time to indulge but had to get away, but not before a full English and coffee. All in all a great short break, great setting for relaxing and walking, staff very helpful, good value. Ps There's a vineyard walking distance which is on the hitlist for the next visit.

    CARAVAN

We had a wonderful stay with friends in their caravan for the bank holiday weekend. What a wonderful place to stay. The ground are very well kept with fab sculptures dotted around. There is a fishing pool and great walks. It peaceful & quiet. My highlight was seeing the badgers on the evening.

    Festive Afternoon tea

New Covid Rules just come in so mulled wine off the list. However the non alcoholic version was absolutely lovely. Our group of four friends had a lovely time this afternoon. Food was faultless and well worth the cost. Situ is stunning and the ambience was just right. We all felt safe too... We left feeling very full and a doggy bag each... Thank you to all

    Great value Sunday Lunch

Booked for a late Sunday Lunch. What more could you ask for, blazing log fire, warm welcome and well prepared and presented local food. This should be an essential part of the pre Christmas run up. Hopefully Wales will not have to go back into lockdown in the New Year
