  absolutely amazing and comfortable, cozy hotel

  visiting Berlin, came very late in February 2015(22:15 as in hotel Hannover wasn't the key for us!!!) Friendly and high level of service, delicious breakfast and realy nice atmosphere. possible to smoke outside, nice, fresh smell in the building, fresh towels,nice room+mini bar: soup,beer,tea,coffee-2-4 euros! So usefull!! We appreciate and come again!! Best regards from Brussels:) and beautiful thanks!!

  Not professional Hotel service. Never again!

  I travel lot for business and naturally stay in hotels, but my experience with this hotel is rather unique! I requested in advance that since I was traveling with a colleague we could have a room with two separate beds. This wish was honored on the time of checking and we paid a full price of the 1 night staying along with 8 euros/person for breakfast. After an hour or so I received a call to my room asking me to re-visit reception to solve a problem with my booking! Unbelievably the very nice lady clerk who checked us in earlier told us that we have to pay a 30 euros extra because of separate beds or we would be downgraded to another room! This is never heard before that a paying customer would be downgraded after checking in to the room and it makes my experience with this hotel rather interesting! I do not see this as a professional hotel service and therefore cannot recommend it to anyone else. Another downside of this property is its extremely remote location which means a 40 km drive to Hanover and a lot of traffic during peak times.

  A pearl off the autoroute in Apelern, Germany

  Just off the highway in a tiny and cute village you will find this pearl of hotel. The room was really nice with a large bathroom. The breakfast buffet had everything you could wish for. The parking was within the hotel garden and no problem leaving the car full of luggage.Friendly and pleasant service which made you feel at home. Perfect for a stopover night at a good price.

  Nice but remote

  First, you have to take into consideration that this place is in the middle of nowhere, and you'd have to have a reason to go there. I was in the area for a wedding. If you go there knowing beforehand that it's a small village with nothing much to do, then you're expectations won't be too high. It's a cute place that provides the necessities. I think 4 stars is good based on location. If this were in a bigger city, I'd only give 3 stars. Again, location drives expectations. The man running the place was very nice and patient with me when I was asking for directions. Just a couple things to give a heads up: The restaurant isn't the only one in the village, but it is closed on Thursdays. I've left a review for the other restaurant, Zum Alten Friederich. The pillows are pretty flat, so bring your own.

  Not recommended

  We booked some rooms during the truck fair and it was a disappointing experience. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. But it could be a good point if you want a quiet stay. Rooms where just average at best (door of the shower was not closing for instance...) Steakhouse restaurant in the hotel was fine, but the bar was closing at 22:30... annoying when the hotel is in a small town with nothing around.
