CozyIt was a walk away from the town and 15 min drive from skiing. The staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. We were given a dry paper bag breakfast. It snowed and was beautiful out by their pond. Would stay here again

Overall a disappointmentWe were looking for a really nice getaway in a picturesque mountain town, so decided to try Meadowbrook since the reviews and pics looked like it fit the bill. On the plus side, it is conveniently located to downtown Blowing Rock and our "Deluxe" room was acceptable - gas fireplace, closed in balcony/seating area, carpeted and clean. No complaints here. My frustration comes at the point of policies, some of which we understood ahead of time, others not. First, we came because they have a really nice indoor pool. At leave I thought it was nice, but we couldn't see it until our reservation time on Saturday. No "willy-nilly" swimming here! We were told on check-in (Friday) that there were no Friday swimming spots open, and we could only swim at 11:00, 12:00 or 2:00 p.m. the next day. Everything else was booked. Not Tennessee law, I know, because we just came from a Clarion in Sevierville and the pool was open. My guess is that it's their interpretation of a local ordinance. Exercise room was closed as well, but I knew that ahead of time. Next comes breakfast. It was explained to me upon check-in (which, by the way, had about as much warmth those prison movies where they explain "the rules around here.") that breakfast was a hot or cold box. You can't eat where you pick it up, so you can take it outside (It was 18 degrees each morning) or back to your room. Our room was across the parking lot in what they poetically call "The Annex". Breakfast in on a rotation and "is delicious," I was informed. So first morning the rotation available was (1) biscuits and gravy - no butter or jelly, just grave; (2) hot maple oatmeal; and (3) vegetarian quishe. You could also pick up a muffin, a tangerine, a carton of 2% milk, and a liimited selection of cereal. I asked about jelly and was told "no jelly." Again the prison movies come to mind. My personal preferences at this point must be noted, to be fair: I don't like quishe, don't eat gravy and really think that a "nice hotel" should have some meat option in their "rotation." One final observation: There is no room service. I've been in hotels during this pandemic where you had to ask, but at Meadowbrook it is not available. You can put your wet towels in a bag (given to you as a part of the check-in speech), and then leave them outside the door. Then you can call and they'll bring you more towels. Your room, however, if off limits. Which is fine, if that's what you want; not so fine if you'd like a bit of tidying up for the price you are paying. All of this is more than compensated for by the beautiful surroundings and the really nice local restaurants. But I'll look for another lodging option next time.

TerribleI was very surprised the hotel did not live up to the reviews I read online. We paid $130 a night. No maid service. We were treated like we were the pandemic. Breakfast was a disgrace cold sausages with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits without the gravy was dry. When I asked for butter and jam for the dry biscuits they said no butter or jam. It must be very demeaning for a chef to serve breakfast in a box. To top it off we were told you have to eat it in your room, the room with no maid service, leaking windows and stained bathroom ceiling tiles. My advice get a cabin!!!

Best hotel in the Boone areaOur son is attending App State and we've been to the area several times for visits, move ins, etc. We have found Meadowbrook to be the best stay in the area by far. The hotel takes Covid very seriously, which is a big plus. The complex is very nice with both indoor and outdoor fireplaces.. The rooms are always spotless. The bed are comfy. They have a huge selection of channels on the television. Breakfast included hot selections served safely. We will definitely be staying here many times in the coming years.

Very nice inn!It was very nice. The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The room was spacious and comfortable. The walls are a little thin. The people in the next room coughed all night. The breakfast was very good for Covid. We asked for more towels and they were delivered within 5 minutes of calling the front desk.
