  Disappointing Stay & Service

  Wanted to love Maya Breeze Inn but from check-in to checkout it was a complete disappointment. I emailed the hotel prior to booking & they promised cabin A as it was a special occasion for my boyfriends birthday. That is the only reason I was okay paying the increased rate for the cabin. When we arrived the owner lead us to Cabin C without mentioning anything (like I wouldnt notice). When I inquired about being promised A, she said they had overbooked it- no apology. When we checked out I saw on the page they had hand written "Cabin A Promised" meaning they likely bumped us after getting a different reservation. I again asked why she didnt contact me or offer a discount & she said 1. That cabin was for reserved for her use (despite guests occupying it the entire time) & 2. She would comp 2 nights on our next stay I work for a corporate hotel and resort group & that is not how you gain customer loyalty. If she had just owned up to the mistake and apologized and offered something to compensate for the mistake, I would've been happy and given a stellar review. On top of that, their credit card machine broke the day before we left which the owner tracked me down on the beach to tell me I would have to pay cash. I said we didn't carry that much cash & werent going all the way into town ($40 US RT for a cab) to an ATM which would charge international fees. She told me to think about it & come back with a solution. We ended up having to go to the bowling alley to have them run our card after going back & forth several more times. Such a hassle on our last night. Again, things happen and I understand that, but the way it was handled was really disappointing. Finally, there's no wifi in the rooms & no housekeeping unless you ask, give them your key and then it is reluctantly cleaned. *This was our second trip to Placencia and we wanted to stay at Maya Beach Hotel & Bistro up the street but they were closed for the weekend. Do yourself a favor and book with Helen there. They have a fantastic bistro on the water and the staff is wonderful.

  Waterskiing + Jetski Rental

  I was apparently the first to waterski on Maya Beach in a long long time which is surprising considering the amaze conditions. Perfect waters and beautiful scenery. I was lucky to spot the discreet waterski sign by the road into Maya Breeze Inn. I skied after one of the jet skis, worked perfectly fine. I am an advanced waterskiier and can gladly recommend skiing at Alans place. Chill guy and for a good price!

  Miss V was fantastic

  Maya Breeze was very welcoming when we arrived. The owner helped book our snorkel trip for us (which was absolutely amazing) and drove us into town twice (which saved us 20usd each time) She was very accommodating, the room had good WiFi and was bigger than expected with a brand new AC unit. The pool was a nice addition. I would highly recommend this place. The staff was amazing and the beach was beautiful too

  Fell in love with Belize and it started here.

  We came to check out Belize and The Maya Breeze Inn made us feel welcome and at home. What a beautiful spot. Our cabin was right on the beach and next to the pool and tiki bar. Fantastic neighbors are to the left and right with great happy hours. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We are already planning our next trip back. Miss V is the best!!!

  Kayaks, lobster stew, and so much more!

  My wife and I adore this place. Small and family-owned/operated. Whatever it lacks in sophistication it makes up for in charm. The first time we drove up Miss V (proprietor) helped us with cab fair unprompted b/c we were too tired to remember we needed it. The tiki bar is stocked and always playing great music. The guest rooms are small but very pretty and rustic in a perfectly cozy beach house kind of way. Miss V, Tracy, Karem and the rest of the guys are all great. Friendly, a *lot* of fun, and they make sure you have everything you want or need. While they don't serve food there it hardly matters; literally 15 paces either way down the beach you have nice restaurants on either side. And there's a general market a minute's walk down the road for whatever supplies you need (seriously they've got everything). And turns out there's a bowling alley and a casino just north if you're interested in that sort of thing ;) Youre a little out of the way from Placencia itself, but that's what the golf carts are for! We absolutely recommend Maya Breeze Inn not just because it's awesome, but because it's worth supporting such a fun little place.
