    Casona historica

Todo el hostal esta ambientado en el siglo pasado. Dicen que la Reina de Inglaterra durmió una noche alli. Los muebles y la decoracion son un gran atractivo. El piso de madera suena como corresponde a la epoca y las camas son de pelicula. Buen restaurante ademas.

A wonderful lunch, but the same cant be said for the service!

It was an unfortunate dining experience where a group of friends met with the expectations of a wonderful meal and a chance to enjoy each others company. We stood for a good 15 minutes waiting to be seated despite being noticed by 2 different wait staff. Our rolls were insanely delicious and the wine was good as well. Too bad we were never given the chance to see if we would like another! One member of our group asked for onions to be omitted which we learned after an hours wait was the reason for the delay in our food being served! Oh dear...a simple explanation a half hour earlier would have alleviated our fears of being forgotten altogether! After our order and wine was served we never saw our server until the food was plunked in front of us, which was delicious , and then again when our bill was presented! Too bad we werent given the chance to enjoy dessert and a cup of tea.

    Utterly charming

The rooms in this 1850s dwelling are beautifully decorated and each is unique. The overall decor is delightful, and they have been able to modernize it a fair bit without sacrificing charm. The dining is elegant and they have a lovely herb and vegetable garden on site. The only hiccup was they don't continually monitor the front desk, so it can be a bit hard to find staff at odd hours, but this may have been a temporary or unusual situation. I was very delighted overall, despite that.

    Historic Inn - grumpy proprietor

This beautiful, historic inn was once a glamorous destination for famous people (according to the inns log book). Decorated with what could be described as Olde Worlde charm, every flat surface is enhanced with china ornaments, antique dolls, artificial flowers and stuffed toys. The proprietor may once have played more of a supporting role in the establishment, being fairly high on the grumpy spectrum, and not exactly having hospitality in his blood. Notwithstanding - the room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable and the water hot. There is also a dining room in the Inn building which serves meals that may draw on the extensive kitchen garden at the rear of the carriage house. Very comfortable and worth a visit.

    Elegant and Charming

We actually stayed in the adjacent Carriage House due to my husband not liking so many stairs. The room was very decorated (the hosueskeeper's favorite, I heard) and so very "girly" but also comfortable (good bed) and with enough room. Although the restaurant was closed, the proprietor still let us have wine on the veranda, which was lovely. Great garden. Also, although they were not offering breakfast, he offered to make it for us anyway, which was very sweet.
