  Nothing Special

  Stayed here for a wedding in Columbus. Mediocre hotel with mediocre staff, who do not know much about the hotel or anything else. The front desk clerk told me no sofa bed (my daughter was with us), so we will send up a roll away. Normally fine, but when I got to the room, we had both and nowhere to put down the roll away or pull out the sofa bed. The restaurant is just a run of the mill Houlihan, though the bar is very nice with good bartenders. Nothing special and certainly not a destination to go to.

  Great location - covid safe

  Unlike the Marriott i stayed at last night, this one - everyone is masked - and 90% in the lobby. the room is redone - and nice. Breakfast at Houlihans - had the asparagus omelet - outsstanding....wow, i really love this hotel. A block from the riverwalk which is great for exercise. Only complaint - well no lounge but they gave breakfast...only complaint - have sanitizer stations everywhere - but have to keep them filled. they were mainly empty. I'll be back for sure. Very good choice in times of covid.

  Best Hotel in Columbus

  Stay Report 10/12 to 10/13: Location: The hotel is in Downtown Columbus on the corner of 9th and Broadway just south of the Performing Arts Center.  Its location means you can walk to all the restaurants and bars downtown and believe me there are some excellent choices.  It does mean a little bit of driving if you need to get to the freeways around here but it's worth it.  Hotel: The hotel was closed for a few months during COVID but is back open.  It's a nice design that's different in a good way from the standard Marriotts you see in a lot of cities.  It has an attached Houlihan's Restaurant and a small parking lot out from which is blessedly free right now.  There's a large lobby with a small store in it as well.   Check In: I was checked in by a helpful agent who let me know she'd upgraded me to a suite for being Titanium, that's always a treat. Room: Very nice.  Full living room with small bar area, separate bedroom with large and comfortable bed and a huge bathroom.  No issues with Wifi or noise or finding power outlets so I was very happy.   Dining: This hotel is nicely still providing breakfast as a Titanium benefit.  I was able to order off a menu and service and the food were both very good. I have nothing but good things to say about this property.  The location, service and elite recognition were top notch.  I'm making lists of places that treated elites well during COVID and I'll be returning to those properties.  This is definitely one of them.

  Beautiful hotel, great service.

  Stayed at this location in the new historic section. The room and hotel were very nice. The welcome and person service was above any that weve ever experienced. The hotel manager literally made us feel like we were family/friends and hoped to see us return soon. He personally went the extra mile to make sure all of our needs were met. We will be back to this location again!

  Almost 5 stars

  We stayed two nights and the hotel would be a 5 star but for the few items Marriott corporate is pushing to denigrate the brand. PROS: The people working here are all top notch, particularly their greeter/bellman Greg. Everybody made us feel welcome. The bed is soooo comfortable that it is easy to go back to sleep after the train comes through. (Reminds me of the movie My Cousin Vinny). It's loud but quick. We were on the concierge floor, but nothing was open (they said in a few weeks). But as compensation they gave us full complimentary breakfast at Houlihans restaurant which was a wow. They provide plenty of bottle water and the hotel is well situated within walking distance of area restaurants. Greg recommended Minnies which serves up a very nice lunch for $8. We also went to 11th and Bay which is also only a short distance. Pillows are excellent, not those small ones that some hotels force upon you. The shower was outstanding with a rainfall shower head. Nice :) The room has a huge tv with plenty of channels. Top notch. Cons: The only negatives are the Marriott corporate Issues that someone is fostering on the Marriott chain. A chair that is uncomfortable, a couch that is equally uncomfortable (I couldn't figure out how to sit on it and watch tv), shampoo/conditioner&soap in tubes on the wall (makes me think I'm on a cruise ship or in a high school shower room). And worst of all, you need to live out of your suitcase because Marriott is no longer providing dressers or adequate closet space to hang your clothes. The same person who thought of those changes is probably the same one who changed the well known Marriott name to the idiotic BonVoy (whatever that means). Overall, I would rate this hotel top notch and will return the next time I am in Columbus.
