Strange bathroomThe staff are very friendly and helpful. But, I don't understand the decorator's choices in the bathrooms. Frosted glass doors that aren't well balanced (won't stay open to let steam out since there is no fan) and allows the user to be seen through the door and reflected in the mirrored closet doors. You might want to bring an opaque curtain and tension rod. You will also need a bath mat to avoid slipping in the very slippery tub with no texture. A shower cap is necessary to avoid getting your hair wet under the rain shower showerhead. I guess an adjustable showerhead was too expensive. At least all was clean. Bring your own pillow if you don't like flat pillows to sleep on. They were very uncomfortable.

Good place to stay if in Hoffman EstatesStay at the beginning of July. Staff were mindful and help, even the hotel was running a skeleton staff due to COVID. Kitchen was not open at the time of the stay, but they said they were starting to figure out it opening in the next few weeks. Lots of restaurants in the area as well as World Market and Target for supplies. Only negative is the rooms are due for a renovation. It's getting a bit worn. Otherwise, I would return.

Old run down Marriott HotelFirst the title Marriott Chicago Northwest , this hotel is approximately 35.3 miles from the Chicago loop area , it is approximately 22 miles from the Chicago Ohare airport terminals. There is no hotel shuttle to from the airport you either hire a cab, limo,Uber or Lyft to get there. The closest Metra train stations are either in Barrington or Bartlett also miles away. The bar is Okay but expensive as is the restaurant , there is several really decent other less costly restaurants within walking distance or a short Uber ride to other side of the rather large strip mall to the east of the this property. The rooms are old and tired , staff was okay. There are cheaper newer options in the area of Hoffman Estates or Schaumburg Illinois.

Do not stay here - Pay the extra $$ and stay at the Renaissance - You won't regret it.I always stay at Marriott hotels. Always. However, I will never stay at this Marriott again. I booked a room on the concierge floor, which was the 8th floor. As soon as I checked in, I turned the thermostat in the room all the way down, as low as it would go, to 65. It was currently 71 degrees in the room. I went downstairs to have a drink and returned to my room about an hour later, only to find out it was still 71 degrees. I called and asked for someone from maintenance to come up and look at it. They sent someone up immediately. He advised me that there is no AC as they turn it off so the temperature will not go down, but he was going to turn it on for me. He went over to the thermostat, pressed some buttons, and turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees. He asked if I wanted a fan, I said no, I wanted a comfortable room. He said it would cool down and then I could adjust it. 30 minutes later, the AC still had not come on. So I got dressed and went downstairs. It is now past 11 p.m. The lady at the front desk informed me that they turn the AC off in the winter and there was no way for it to be turned on. I asked why the maintenance guy told me otherwise and she said she didn't know. I asked her to ask him and she said he left for the evening. I told her I have medical issues that require the use of steroids and I could not stay in an overheated room. Again, she offered a fan to blow the hot air around. The hotel does not have windows that open. She offered to move me to a lower floor, one of the coldest rooms in the hotel. Room 101 or 106. Of course now at 11:30 p.m., I had to pack up all my stuff and move. The room was much more comfortable, but it was also right next to the door that people come in and out of and a heater that was making a clanking noise in the stairwell. This hotel is in need of serious updates. The bathrooms have been updated but all other furniture and amenities are much older. TV's are extremely small. You pay for comfort when you stay in a hotel and I don't know how, by law, they can turn the AC off on you. The next morning, 2 of the 3 people I was traveling with had the same complaint. They were on floors 5 and 8. There was nothing offered for my inconvenience and in fact, they still charged me the rate of being on the concierge floor. 4 days after check out, I still do not have my receipt e-mailed to me.
