  Nice area Basic accommodation

  Area nice, short walk to Taverns sea front and a few shops. Accommodation a bit too basic tbh and furniture old and mouldy smelling. Towel change and bat math change only once in whole week. Huge problem with insects mosquitoes, beetles and wasps. Pool area nice, no music though. No entertainment at all. Would not recommend or return here. Found the Hostess Zoe shockingly rude and nasty sporadically to various guests. Her husband was nice to everyone. Shame as could be a little gem. The Island is lovely to see, hire a car as some lovely beaches.

  Great place to stay run by a lovely family. Clean accommodation, well serviced and close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Pool area lovely with sun lounges and decent size pool for swimming. Recommend this place definitely.

  Embarassing situation

  We stayed 11 nights in Markella Studios,in July '20. A very bad situation: firstly, a very small room with 4 beds and a ridiculous kitchen with a broken fridge and cutlery over a garbage container. TV not working and no air conditioning..unless 4/night charge (we refused). Wi-fi connection missing from the rooms. We also tried for bigger 2-floors apartment "Maisonette" wich also had: again, not working TV/WiFi and generally an old structure with few seats,no table clothes,old cutlery. And during the night with opened windows not to suffer hot without air conditioning (in 2020 would you pay 50+ more for that?): a long concert by cocks, horses, cows, dogs, birds...all singing in unison! Let's go! Paid really more than it deserved considering that no breakfast were included. I can't understand who before me wrote about the owner as a nice person: many things disgusted me, she's so different from sincere kind real Greek people that I've known in many other occasions. We strongly advise against this structure,it doesn't deserve such an high requested money.

  Towels change every 4-5 days. The air conditioning is charged extra and does not work properly. If you don't buy something at the bar, you're not allowed to sit at their tables. I was put aside even though all the other meals were free. The TV does not work and no action was taken although I announced from day one. The staff is not friendly. Insufficient and undiversified breakfast. The owner's children have installed a ps4 in the yard where they play all day and the other children sit and look at them. Small bed and small room. You are not allowed to drink by the pool The internet dose not work.

  markella studios, brilliant holiday

  thanks to zoe and her team we have just had the best two week holiday I Greece at the markella studios, we stayed in a maisonette which was probably the best accommodation that we have ever stayed in, the swimming pool was great as was the lady at the bar and also the cleaning of our room was excellent, Zoe organised some trips for us as well, in all the staff were very helpful and friendly, Zoe we will be back, regards the smiths
