Great location and services, 10 days of relaxing thanks to the staff.

Despite the pandemic we were fortunate enough to spend 10 wonderful days at Sun Palace Hotel this September. We had an excellent time from the first day we arrived. The hotel's location is perfect, making the town centre, beach and restaurants accessible and also quiet during the night. Restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful, (always have a smile behind the mask :) ) they greet and serve every customer individually. I would like to give a special mention to Eleni, who made our day with her kindness every single morning. It's her and her colleagues that helped us relax and escape this difficult period for at least 10 days. They all work very long hours extremely hard and still start each day with a positive mindset. The pools and water slides are brilliant, food, drink, snacks and any other refreshments are available all throughout the day in multiple locations around the hotel for all-inclusive guests. For those looking to explore the island, you can also rent a car of your choice near the reception desk, and the bus drop and pickup point is right in front of the entrance. Everything around the hotel is done up to the standards of the COVID-19 safety guidelines including sanitizers and facemasks. Overall we had an excellent time, we couldn't ask for more.

    Nice hotel with great staff

We arrived late September for 11 nights and to be honest we were unsure about our choice of resort and hotel. Due to the covid situation it became a game of cat and mouse in trying to find a resort that was open without major restrictions. Our room was very nice ( I am not sure if some have been upgraded but our one didn't look like many of the photos on this site). The safe has to be paid for, 30 euros for our stay. We went for a walk on the first morning on the hotel grounds so quickly discovered the water park area and snack bar. The hotel has four pools although we only used the main one (too old for water slides) all of which are cleaned and surrounded by sunbeds, no matter what time you headed outside there were always beds available. Food was pretty good, there was always something to eat with a selection of cakes or ice cream if you fancied dessert. The restaurant staff who serve you food (due to covid you join a queue and a server walks down the line and you ask for whatever you fancy, at all times you are kept a safe distance from the food. Several guests ignored this line on the ground and were quickly reminded that they must step back). Despite it being a new buffet experience it worked very well, the staff are all wearing masks constantly and were very helpful. Similar standards at the bar, staff always wore masks and were very friendly as were the staff on reception. In fact all staff were what made this hotel so special so thank you. The animation team also were very good, we mostly spoke to Daniel who was very good at picking up if you really wanted to play pool volleyball or if you preferred to laze around the side of the pool. Thanks for letting me laze around... We did book the a la carte restaurant, you pick your menu choices before your chosen slot (in our case 3 days before) so everything runs a lot smoother. The food was very nice and made a change from the main buffet restaurant. Immediately outside is a couple of shops and only 5-10 minutes walk away are the beginnings of more bars, restaurants and shops. The beach is around 5-10 minutes slow walk away. Honestly it was the friendly staff and general cleanliness that we all often take for granted that made this hotel and our holiday so special. Thank you.

just returned from a 10 night family holiday

stayed her for 10 nights in october, we had a family room 325 which had lovely view of the main pool stage and sea, the staff in the hotel are friendly and the hotel is lovely and clean, cleaners changed the towels every 3 days and bins daily, the hotel was really busy mostly english and a few welch and other nationalities as most are on lockdown, there was no masks worn at the hotel on the staff had them which was great to get away from it all and feel safe too, the resteraunt was a bit hit and miss food wise and it was hard to tell them what you wanted as the waiters walked along with you and you had to stay behind the line so you couldnt see very good what was on offer only from the signs above and you felt a bit rushes as the que was usually very long, some things looked nice and but didnt taste very nice and other looked not very nice and was nice so it was a bit of try diffrent things unlike some of my family that lived in pizza and chips all the holiday, they didnt put much on your plate and if you wanted to get more there was a big que then to get some, there were quiet times just had to time it right, the bread and salad was lovely and plenty of choice so you wont go hungry, there was a good cocktail list for the drinks which were strong and nice, where you sat to have food and the entertainment out in the night near the stage there were people smoking constantly which was a nuisance, they should have a smoking are for this instead as it not fair when you have children and you are eating, the water park was a few mins walk we were in room 325 which was in the main hotel black but there was other blocks spread out in the comlplex, the water park opened at 10 am and you had to join the que, it did get busy quick but there was always loungers about same by the main pool, there was 9 of us in total so it was a bit of a mission to get some all together, the snack bar in the water park was good if you miised breakfast you could have fried egg, omlett, beans chips and bread rolls there which was nice, there was loads of pizza for dinner and well as pasta and gyros, the bar only had limited drinks there too and ice cream, the wave pool come on 3 times a day for 20 mins a time which was good, lazy river was good but you had to use your own floats, my family enjoyed the slides too, weather was good for the first few days then went overcast, one day was a really bad storm with floods and even a cyclone, but it was lovey 26 degrees and blue skys for the rest of the holiday after that so the weather is a bit hit and miss for the time of the year, we had a really good family holiday and enjoyed every min of it it was really busy as it was school holiday time but it was 3rd time lucky for us to go after ibiza in may getting cancelled then turkey in october, im glad we got to go away and rhodes is lovely as is the hotel and i would recommend this hotel and stay here again. lots of mozzys out there so make sure you have a good repellent we had laods in our room this time.

    Hotel and water park faliraki

The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The staff were all lovely especially the barman and cleaning staff in our block. The room was clean and spacious (double with 2 sets of bunk beds) food was good and staff were very professional. We were there at the end of season and due to Covid we had very small if any queues. The water park was great fun and again no queueing for the rides and plenty of sun beds. The beach was lovely and would highly recommend visiting Peter's aqua sports.
