  Excellent place for diving

  We stayed 5 nights at Seasir. Diving is fantastic. Dive sites are gorgeous and the staff is very professional and friendly. When not diving, you can either rent a bike and visit the island or go to one of the fantastic beaches nearby. The island is quite small and there isn't a lot to do but the sea.

  Great base for diving around Kerama islands

  The place has been running for 50 years and it works with a well oiled routine. Staff is very friendly and you can get by with English. Sites are beautiful and we got to see turtles, big fish, exquisite corals, white tip sharks, garden eels etc. If you go diving, you should note that they only have yoke valves. Food is excellent and plentiful. There is a great bar next door if you like to drink and an observatory deck nearby. We stayed in a western style room and the mattresses were quite hard, resulting in a few not-so-well sleeped nights.

  Amazing island

  Intro: It can be quite tricky getting a hotel on Aka Island via the major hotel sites, luckily Seasir was not one of them. This was our first visit to the island, so we were happy to get what ever we could. Getting to the hotel: This is tricky! The only way to get to the island is via speed boat or ferry. You will need a reserved seat and the tickets run out really quick during summer! The tckets are available for booking 2 months prior to departure day, and the ferry schedule is released 2 months in advance for the whole month. I highly recommend booking your ticket via phone ASAP! The Location: The island is small, but luckily the staff will be waiting for you at the port to take you to the hotel on their small truck (the ride is 2 min and the walk is 5 min!) But you need to let them know in advance if you want pick up! The hotel is 50 m off one of the beaches. The Room: Its more a hostel-vibe going on. The rooms are clean but dont expect anything fancy. I also recommend sweeping the room for spiders everytime you get back. We had a visit from a Huntsman spider in our room one day after we returned from the beach. And trust me, its not pleaseant, they are super quick and huge! Unique details: There are Kerama deers wandering around the island! The cutest small deers ever! The island is also home to turtles who lay eggs on the beach and coral reefs! All this just meters away from the hotel! Good to know: Make sure NOT to miss the food-schedule at the hotel! I also recommend trying out the Okinawa Ramen at the lunch restaurant close to the port. Its the best Ive ever had. And if you dont like Ramen, go for the Tex Mex Rice! Customer Service: The staff is super nice at the hotel!
