    Will never go back

Place is overpriced and the people who work at the restaurants there have the communication skills of a 38 day old dead banana slug. We went for dinner this evening and were looking forward to having steaks for dinner. We wait for over 2 hours for a seat (we never got one, we commandeered two at the bar), only to find out theyre only serving the seafood buffet tonight. Well on that buffet was a lot of BS, including raw shrimp, raw oysters, and if you were able to get ahead of the Im going to join a gym for my New Years resolution but only go 4 times crowd, crab legs. They also served pork loin and prime rib that looked like theyd been sitting there since thanksgiving. The card tables were way overpriced as well and they really need to enforce a dress code when theyre having events there. I couldnt tell if I was at a Walmart or a New Years Party at a really big meth lab. And yes, this is how I really feel.

    Traveler

Stopped here to check out the new renovations. ( have been here twice previously while under reno.) pleasantly surprised. The casino was updated and clean and we even won a few dollars! Its apparent that the new owners are trying to improve things, definitely a step-up from our last visit!

    Cant win here

Its hard to win at this place but the dog races are terrific. The dogs even seem to enjoy the races and they are obviously well cared for. First class place but dont expect to leave with your car payment in tact.

Worst Casino Hotel in the Country by far

Not sure where to even start with this review but I want people to take note and look at any of my other 100 reviews and realize i am normally very positive and not one of those people that goes away to complain. Here we go... The good, the bad, and the ugly First we will start off with the good..we only reserved the room for one night and were able to leave the following morning and will never ever return to this awful hotel and brutally dead casino. That's all for the good. Now to the bad. The hotel is like a senior citizen home where there wasng another person under 70 staying in the hotel that we ever saw. The entire staff is miserable and unhappy and this is the theme throughout the entire hotel and casino. Terrible customer service, they treat all their customers poorly as the very few people that were actually there I witnessed 2 different arguments between casino staff and customer. Never witnessed this in any other casino ever before. The casino was literally dead me and my wife played the tables 3 different times and never a single other person was ever at the table and we were playing at 8pm not 2am. They advertise it's always a party at Mardi Gras but it couldn't be further from the truth. The food in casino we ordered was wrong and terrible. We were only people in entire place and cook and other worker are arguing st grill and cook tells us order is wrong and that's what happens when he isn't around for 4 days. It made no sense. Terrible food and terrible service. Now the ugly..the hotel itself is just awful. Do not be fooled by the word renovation because not a penny went into the hotel part. There is nothing luxurious, deluxe or even remotely nice like you expect whenever you stay at any other casino across the country. This one is by far the worst by a wide margin and I have stayed at casinos from Vegas, Atlantic City, Tahoe, Pennsylvania, West Virginia.Florida and so forth and this one just doesnt come close. The hotel and it decor is exactly the same as the day it opened except for maybe the hed sheets. You open the door to possibly the most depressing room ever which has the feel of a rundown Econo Lodge. It is old, smelly, no frills, dirty and just bad. No amenities whatsoever, a terrible bed, stained old chair, dirty carpets, a mildew smell, candy left in the room under chair, bug on curtains and a hair on bathtub wall. We wouldn't dare step in that shower I honestly couldn't tell you if they even give u soap or shampoo. The rooms are horrible and have no amenities at all. Walls are paper thin, you hear all the hallway noise and doors slamming. The price they charge is just ludicrous for this dump. I dont know how else to say this but all 3 other West Virginia casinos blow this place away. Run from this place and dont even consider staying at this horribly run, overpriced hotel. There are much better options to stay a block away at much cleaner hotels and with way better customer service. I am still waiting to see one employee at this hotel smile or greet you because it will be a first. This has to land on management for all their employees to seem so miserable and unhappy. Maybe some customer service training would help. I can guarantee I will never step foot in this establishment again because they dont appreciate their customers at all and there are so many better options around. This place ain't what it used to be and never will be until they change their attitude towards customers. There is a reason the place is so dead. It's not surprising at all management doesnt respond to a the negative feedback because it is all true. Just a terrible all around experience.

    Mom and I

Check in and check out staff very cold and non interested in serving guests. Food choice is only the grill in the casino which is very expensive and limited. Vending machines could not be found. Drink machines were out of stock. After this finally get to room and prepare to sleep. I noticed my moms bed looked well made and my bed was not. I began to search why and there was a yellow stain on my sheet (photo included) and it was obvious the bed had been slept in.. The chair had something sticky on the arm. Needless to say I was not very happy. One good point was Brittany and John from housekeeping, excellent attitude, excellent employees. I feel the other staff need to learn from them how to treat customers. Housekeeping in general needs additional training especially now during COVID19.
