Like stepping into the 70's - but it works!!??

These premises stands completely as it was build in the 70's I suppose. Rooms are very basic, no aircon, and basically nothing extra. The all inclusive food hall concept is rather I charming however if you manage to get a seat outside you have fantastic views over the lake - and the food is actually quite ok. Pool areas are nice but crowded. If you manage to escape the thought of a place not being renovated for so many years and accept the terms this place actually works very well under the circumstances.

    Disappointing

We came to stay for a week, and it's been pretty memorable. First of all I would not recommend bringing senior citizens or those who have trouble walking or need wheelchair access. The hotel is at the top of a long steep hill and there's ZERO disabled access. To put it into one sentence: If you are German/Austrian, and also like to be trapped in a hot shed with creepy 70s art... Then this is the place to be! Seriously though, not a good place for English speakers. Everything is catered for German speakers. Bundesliga games in the lobby, German food and drink, German TV in the room (no english subtitles), Germanic music & entertainment. It's pretty alienating if you are the only people who speak English. The staff, although generally nice people, aren't equipped or have enough English to perform more than basic functions. The rooms are pretty gross, they get really hot at night. There's no air-conditioning but lots of mosquitoes and other bugs come through the vents and into your room. You can hear your neighbors do everything, from talking to using the bathroom. Your rooms are also directly below the restaurant and bar so late at night you can hear scraping of chairs above you all night. Hot water runs out too. The food on rare occasions was good, but on the whole was pretty terrible. The menu was badly translated also so half the time I couldn't tell what I was ordering e.g 'Sea Fish'. They also try and sting you for every avaliable charge, if you ask the staff for tap water they effectively stick their head in the sand like an ostrich. Every drink is 3-5 euros (even water) so we just filled a bottle each in our rooms. The ordering system is confusing too, you have to order for the next day on the menu... but no one explained it to us. There is a nice pizzeria on the other side of the resort next to the bigger pool, no signs or indications so it was hard to find but it's worth a shot if you are staying here. The view is great but unfortunately most of it is blocked by trees. - - - The hotel is not a nightmare but close to it. It's in criminal need of repair and renovation but it's owned by what appears to be a cheap hotel group 'Chincherini'. It looks as though it hasn't been touched since the 70s, there are even posters covered in dust that are promoting peace between the Soviet Union (yes really) and the US! in 2017! If I were you I'd stay away from this hotel and other Chincherini resorts as they seem to be generic amongst eachother.

    Very bad

First, our bus couldn't go up to the hotel so we had to climb up a hill with our luggage. Rooms are horrible, even though I had "better" room. Also I was in another building and separated from my class and teachers. Dinner was ok, but the breakfast was horrible and tasteless. Walls were thin like paper and beds hard like rock. There were bugs everywhere, there was no signal and the pool was dirty and it was prettier on pictures. Not returning there.

    Ok

Dated hotel just outside Garda, up a steep drive which gives good views over the lake, very good two swimming pools with plenty of sun beds, rooms clean but basic, breakfast ok but had better. Biggest bug bear, the bars and cafe wouldnt let you charge to the room, or take credit card. The hotel is really set up for Germans who park basically where they like and one even blocked the car park so that no one could get in or out, they decide that if they want your pool spot they will crowd you out.
