  A Hidden Gem!

  This hotel is fabulous. It may be in an off the beaten track location but the room would possibly be the best we stayed in during our trip to Japan. Its a very modern contemporay design hotel with a few quirks but the room layout is amazing. Huge rooms with extremely spacious separate bathroom and toilet as big which alone were as big as many other hotel rooms and the main area was equally as spacious with comfortable beds and two(!) COMFORTABLE pillows each. The service was freindly but not particularly great - there are not many staff and they probably don't ofeten see a group of foreign tourists. So the restaurant is average though there is a lovely Korean BBQ style restaurant only 100m away and a couple of convenience stores nearby. It is a long way off the beaten track (unlees you are a cyclist) but its a great place to call home for a night. Just don't expect anything other than a traditional Japanese breakfast.

  Great modern accommodation in an amazing town!

  In a manicured little town Yusuhara, timber building, gallery and 2 floors of rooms :western and Japanese style. Spacious, comfy, modern very clean room, great welcome from the smiling staff. Breakfast was good and served in the gallery downstairs. Lift available! Free off street parking. A bit pricey though! Well recommended!

  My favourite place in Japan

  I can't tell you how much I enjoyed staying at the Marche Yusuhara Hotel. It helps that I am an architect and the building is designed by Kengo Kuma, but aside from that, the hospitality of the staff was wonderful and warm. The Japanese breakfast is incredible. The hotel sits right in the middle of the small town and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. There is a great Onsen 5 minutes down the road. I will return to this place to stay for a longer time on my next trip.
