Se encuentra en las afueras de Alvor; el centro de la localidad y la playa están a 700 metros de este moderno y luminoso complejo. El Mar Alvor se recomienda por su alto standard y su ambiente relajante, es un destino ideal para familias y parejas. Hay una piscina para adultos y otra separada para niños. El fantástico Bar está abierto desde las 08.00 para desayunos y snacks durante el dia; TV. satelital con pantalla plana para poder ver los partidos de futbol además: juegos de video, dardos y billar para jugar mientras que se saborea los 14 tipos de cerveza o cocktailes que ofrece éste complejo.

Ubicación:
Los apartamentos están a aprox. 700 metros de la playa y del centro de Alvor, donde pueden encontrar múltiples tiendas, restaurantes y bares. Los apartamentos están a cinco kilómetros del centro comercial Portimao, a 5 kilómetros de la vida nocturna de Praia da Rocha y a 75 kilómetros del aeropuerto Faro.

Habitaciones:
El complejo ofrece estudios, apartamentos de 1 dormitorio y de 2 dormitorios. Todos espaciosos y confortables, completamente equipados con cocina americana (kitchenette), nevera, hornillos, microondas, lavadora, tostador y utensilios, baño privado y balcón o terraza.

Información Adicional:
El complejo ofrece a sus huéspedes una atractiva piscina, piscina para niños, tumbonas y bar de piscina / snack bar. Para los amantes del golf, el club de Golf Alto está a 2 km y el Penina Golf está a 5 km. Hay bares, restaurantes y un pequeño supermercado situados a 200 metros del complejo. Tenga en cuenta que durante la temporada alta (junio a octubre) los clientes registran su entrada en la recepción de los apartamentos desde las 10h30 hasta las 19h, después de este horario y durante la temporada baja (noviembre a mayo) los clientes deben registrar su entrada en el Dunas de Alvor, a 800 metros de distancia (Estrada da Barca, Edificio Dunas do Alvor, Bloco C / 8500-558 Alvor). El hotel no dispone de ningún servicio de transporte para este fin.

    Aprobado raspado.

    Los aprtamentos y la edificación está limpia, pero se nota demasiado el paso de los años: instalaciones y mobiliario viejas. Algunas cosas no funcionan (luces, extractor de la cocina, persiana) o no funcionan adecuadamente (frigorífico). Faltaba persiana en la cocina y cortina en el dormitorio. La cocina (de gas) solo encendía con la chispa eléctrica en un fogón. Los demás debían encenderse con una cerilla o un papel. Al llegar, primer problema: no tenían disponible ese día el apartamento con balcón que teníamos reservado. Solución: estar provisonalmente en otro apartamento (el 010) un día y pasar al día siguiente al que tenía balcón (el 208). Nos ofrecen, como compensación quedar otro día más gratis (se agradece pero los días de vacaciones suelen ser justos). Solo tenía una habitación con cama de matrimoniio. En el salón un sofá-cama con colchoneta más bien fina y dos sillones individuales que se convertían en dos camastros de colchoneta (insufribles los tres). Ventajas: limpieza (aunque las sábanas no las cambiaron en toda la semana), espacioso, gran terraza, parking (al aire libre), piscina correcta, buena situacíón (cercano a las playas con coche) y amabilidad de su personal. Inconvenientes: antigüedad del edifico y mobiliario, cosas que no funcioan o lo hacen defectuosamente, faltan elementos (cortinas, luces), electrodomésticos muy antiguos, no tiene microondas ni aire acondicionado y sofá-camas como potros de tortura.

    Absolute pit . Avoid like the plague

    On arrival a reticent chap showed us to our room but said they hadn't been cleaned so we stored the cases and retuned about 5 pm . The rooms were dreadful. A 1980 s TV , wires hanging out the walls , roller shutter stuck up the patio ... We popped out for food . Returned to smell gas. We called the chap who showed us the room. He didn't want to come out and told us it could be sorted tomorrow. We had to get angry. . He turned up claiming the gas smell was nothing to worry about and lit a lighter....... To prove a point. However early I had sat on the settee which had broken. I explained that. He rolled his eyes.we pointed out the filthy settee...the broken section, the insect infestation, the filth near the cooker.... he then threatened to throw us out.. it was about 11 pm . After some time he offered us another apartment temporarily. On climbing the stairs earlier some ladies said the lift wasn't working...he said it would be mended tomorrow. He said that about the gas , the broken lights , the settee , the electrical issues.... Anyway the second apartment was grim but we d been up since 3 am On him leaving we found no flushing toilet or running water. Using the loo was particularly disgusting considering the heat etc More insects etc etc you get the picture. The place is nothing like the pics on the web It's filthy The communal areas near the pool are dated. I saw a chap sit on a broken lounger . The place is absolutely disgusting and the attitude of the manager , negligent, dangerous and evasive. At times antagonistic and threatening. He should get a bafta for his acting... firstly his minimal English untill it comes to money and argument... Secondly the repeated look of surprise at each problem..... Like he hadn't noticed the filth , the lack of water , the lack of lighting, the wires hanging out the walls , the broken shutters.... If you have no phone that works here you are shafted .... Grim dump and frankly a significant health hazard Teletext sold this as far different. It's barely 1 star ... Let alone 3 We were told at booking this we had been upgraded..... God knows what from! Avoid. Do not book . It's an absolute pit

    Very very outdated and in poor condition

    The location may be accessible but the rooms are very bad. Curtains hung torn and dirty. Shutters didnt work, ants in kitchen and awful beds. Badly stained couch and unserviced apartments. wouldnt return

    Reception Closed

    We arrived at the apartments at around 21.30 (which they new because it was confirmed previously). Lugged the cases up two flights of stairs to find the Reception CLOSED. There was a telephone number to ring, but we did not hae a working phoned. We had to get ourselves back into the town, which is about 1 mile away, and booked into another hotel. We contacted TRAVEL REPUBLIC the next morning by e-mail, they were brilliant, and reponded quickly. Maralvor could have contacted us via e-mail to let us know when we could meet someone at the apartment, but they never did. We advised Travel Republic that we would not be going back to the apartments as we did not have any faith in the quality of the service,due to no-one trying to contact us. We had to find alternative accommodation. We are both in our 70's and found this very distressing. While we were on holiday we heard that we were not the only ones this had happened to. We also did not receive our full monies back as they said we had cancelled.

    If only people could read properly!

    Reading the recent reviews, people seem to have an incredibly short attention span when it comes to researching and booking their accommodation and they then come up with ridiculous expectations. Maralvor is an apartment complex with private owners. Some let out their apartments directly, others use intermediaries such a travel republic, booking.com, airbnb or others. As the apartments are privately owned, it is up to the guest and the owner to make arrangements for key collection etc.. There is no staffed reception, no kiddie entertainment, no poolbar with fashionable drinks served, and if you need someone to hold your hand every step of your holiday, it may be best for you to book a package holiday with a UK-rep on site ;-) The location is very clear if you can be bothered to check it on google, so don't book and then moan that it's too far from the bars. Having said that, there's an excellent pizza/pasta place just a few minutes walk away. Also, as you would expect with any independently owned apartments, standard of the individual apartments will vary. 360 degree views from the common roof terrace are spectacular. We've booked several times with one of the owners and have been extremely pleased every time (clue: it's the apartment with a resident bear, you can figure out now which listing that would be!). Key collection has been without issues, she's only a phone call away if a minor maintenance issue crops up and things get sorted very quickly. "Our" apartment has always been clean and tidy on arrival, well-equipped kitchen and even a goodie basket for our arrival. We look forward to spending a long holiday there this winter.
