  I couldn't have imagined a better experience!

  The property was extremely clean and in a great location. The best part of this experience was Clarissa, the CHAMPION who greeted us at arrival, and assisted when there was a mix up with the room. WOW!!! If only other hotels would take lessons from her about customer service and satisfaction! We will most definitely be returning to Saugatuck, and we will definitely return to the Maplewood Hotel.

  Getaway with the wife

  What a disappointment! With the amount that they charge, what you get is a joke! Rooms are so small that: 1. air conditioners will give you pneumonia since they're about a foot away from your face when sleeping, and you are unable to point them away enough to do you any good - we had to put the only chair in the room up against it to direct it anywhere but on me. 2. Two people are going to struggle passing around the bed or getting to the bathroom as there isn't any room! 3. The door barely closes and you wonder if people can see in from the hallway, even if locked with a deadbolt and chain - made the room quite bright all night as there was THAT much light coming into the room. 4. The bathroom has no counter! Try hanging a hand towel anywhere or having some hygiene products available? Good luck! 2 people in there at once is interesting. 5. No place to even put your suitcase, so we had to stick it on the floor behind the bathroom door. They have a pool, but it looks like a lap pool (maybe about 15' long and 4' wide) and has no patio space to speak of, thereby making it very uninviting. Nothing to do around town with the COVID fears, so most of the restaurants are closed/not available, seems like everything closes at 8pm. You would think with the LACK of economic stimulus from tourists, that prices would reflect a motivation to get people to come, but nope! This place charges more than a luxury hotel in most major cities. Only thing that this place has going for it is that it's one street off the main street, and close to most things during the day... but THAT's it... Stop in and do your thing in the town/area, but head out somewhere else for a more meaningful, peaceful, cost effective, and worthwhile place to sleep! I get it that this place may have some kind of historical significance, but

  Summer of Covid

  Perfect location to enjoy this beautiful town. They made mask wearing a priority even when I forgot a few times exiting the room. Keep everyone safe. They social distanced for breakfast, which was nice sitting on the porch. Quaint!

  Nicest place in town

  Great location close to but not right in the crowed city center. Room was spotless and comfortable as well as very quiet. Nice selection of DVD for in-room use. Very nice breakfast and staff and owner could not be more friendly.

  couple getaway

  had a wonderful stay at the maplewood hotel. It was our second time there and just as nice as the first. a wonderful location walking distance from the main area a block at most to the shops and restaurants. nice rooms we generally get a deluxe and it is perfect for our stay. the breakfasts are very nice and not too much so we can still enjoy a great place for lunch too! I would recommend this to couples for a lovely time away.
