  Fantastic place to stay providing you Don't want yo be in centre of town. In open countryside about 4 Km from town. Beautiful rooms, lovely original breakfast options, our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer

  Comfortable and good location

  A very comfortable B&B, its location outside town means it is very quiet at night and with no light pollution, lots of stars to see. We were made very welcome by Charlotte, the tea and cake on arrival were much appreciated. Our room on the upper floor was well appointed, it was nice to sit on the balcony overlooking the tremendous gardens. Lovely breakfast with all we wanted, all in all a nice situation.

  First class B n B; not quite!

  Arrived 40 mins early as unaware of late check in time. When we were finally let in we felt underwhelmed by the welcome in comparison to all our other experiences. Our room was clean but small, nicely decorated but with a basic bathroom not a luxury one. The bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge in the room, indeed there was no room for one and we were advised that there was a communal kitchenette with a shared fridge, basic cooking facilities eg toaster, microwave at the end of the hall, There seemed to be lots of rules and instructions both in the Welcome/ Information pack and stuck to the walls in strategic places in the room. As the Lodge was full, fourteen people arrived for breakfast at the same time (breakfast served between 8am and 9am) Unfortunately the communal dining was set for 12 and as we arrived last it felt rather awkward and we left after a few minutes of waiting. We were able to eat later. Generally we felt there was an awkward atmosphere between us and the host. We have a great deal of experience of hotels and B n B s at all levels; we feel that this B n B, whilst in a beautiful setting, does not offer a 5 star service.Because we felt awkward from our previous day's experience we left promptly the following day without eating breakfast. Still a way to go to 5 Star in our opinion.

  First class B&B - Definitely!!

  Had the pleasure to stay here for two nights. Delightful accommodation in a stunning area of beauty. Charlotte is a brilliant host and made us feel very welcome. Lovely tea and cake on arrival and the offer of help with knowledge of the immediate area. Lots of little extras in the room which was a nice touch. The breakfast was perfect with many options. Managed to make use of the hot tub as well which was a nice bonus. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but we are both surprised to see a really small number of negative comments in the past. We certainly couldnt find a fault with our experience. Keep up the great work Charlotte....... just sorry we couldnt stay longer!

  Great breakfast!

  We stayed one night at Maple Lodge and as mentioned got a warm welcome from Charlotte alongside a pot of tea with some chocolate cake. Our room was small but adequate and backed into a beautiful garden. We visited Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia and New Zealand but Charlotte's freshly cooked  eggs benedict gave us the best breakfast of our travels
