Estoy deseando volver a ir a Buffalo y a The Mansion en Delaware. Gracias a todo el personal por hacer que nuestra visita fuera tan agradable.

Exceptional Butler ServiceThere are many pluses to this hotel. There is 24-hour butler service, a unique feature that provides an exceptional experience. The building is exquisite--historical and brought up to modern specifications while keeping the old world feel. The location is perfect and convenient to so much in the beautiful city of Buffalo. The staff is of the highest quality and show a rare commitment to their job and to their customers.

Lovely and disappointing at the same time, especially with post-visit customer service.I did not want to write a public review, because I was not feeling publicly disappointed in my stay, but I gave The Mansion (as well as someone from Hotel Henry that I forwarded it to!) 6 full days to at least respond to my email. Unfortunately, I did not even receive so much as an acknowledgement or statement of appreciation for my feedback, so I am going to paste my original letter here: Hello! I am writing to provide some feedback on my recent stay at The Mansion on Delaware. My 12 year old daughter and I had a generally lovely stay in one of your suites, Room 100, on January 30-31. The purpose of the "Staycation" (we live in Kenmore) was to relieve some pandemic melancholy, and we were originally booked at Hotel Henry, as my daughter had always wanted to stay there. A few days before our stay, our reservation at Hotel Henry was unexpectedly cancelled, and we were offered a room at The Mansion. I originally declined, as she did not believe The Mansion had quite the "feel" that she was looking for at Hotel Henry. However, after reviewing the options on your website, I thought that the amenities that came with a suite might "sweeten the deal" for her and give her a more unique experience. Melissa Harrison was very attentive and accommodating and managed to upgrade us to a suite for the same price, and even arranged for a bottle of wine upon arrival for our inconvenience. The cookies were delicious too! In the days leading up to our stay, my daughter and I spent time on your website reading about your suites. We were very excited about the whirlpool tub, multiple fireplaces, the novelty of a television in the bathroom, and all of the other unique amenities The Mansion has to offer. However, throughout our evening, we experienced several disappointments, the most impactful of which was the non-working whirlpool bathtub. Also non-functional was the fireplace in the living area, which did not even have a device in it to respond to the remote; this is noteworthy because this area was very cold and the thermostat would not change from 65 degrees. This was in contrast to the beautiful, toasty fireplace in the bedroom, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The television in the bathroom behind the mirror was either non-functional or there was no way to know how to operate it - we tried all of the remotes and even attempted to reach behind the mirror. A very minor issue, but this would have been super cool to a 12 year old! The bathroom floor, for that matter, appeared very dirty - I'm not sure if it was stained or just filthy, I didn't want to inspect closer, but I can't imagine any of the esteemed guests on your wall of fame being satisfied with the level of cleanliness in the bathroom! When it came time to sleep, my daughter was looking forward to the pull-out couch that the website describes (12 year olds are easily amused!), however, there wasn't one, and when I called for bedding just in case she wanted to sleep on the couch anyway, I was brought (promptly and courteously) two sheets, no blanket. Finally, although the e-mail we recieved two days before our stay instructed us to pull to the front of the property and expect a valet for assistance with our vehicle and luggage, neither service occurred and we were simply told to park across the street. The hotel itself is undeniably lovely and your staff was professional, attentive, and pleasant. Breakfast was particularly noteworthy, and all in all, we made a lovely night out of it and very much enjoyed our stay. Because of that, and because we knew that the suite was an upgrade, we made no complaint, but perhaps this information might be helpful in the future; I cannot imagine how I would feel if I had paid $350for this room, or if the occasion had higher implications. I stayed at The Mansion about 15 years ago and remember having no complaints, being thoroughly impressed, and looking very forward to the day when I could return. I am hoping that these were simply issues with Room 100 and not a sign of the decline of the property. Perhaps amending the website description of the suites or taking care to inform guests about the functionality of some of the amenities if they are given this room? None of the inconveniences we experienced are a "big deal," and I certainly am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth and was very appreciative of the upgrade and understand that perhaps we were given this particular room becuase we hadn't actually paid the full suite price, but now that I think about it and reflect on your staff and general business model, I sincerely doubt you would intentionally treat any guests as second-class. Thank you for your time, Danielle Lesika

I wanted to LOVE the Mansion! My husband and I booked a room at the Mansion for an overnight staycation, as I have always wanted to stay at the Mansion. I had been there years ago for drinks with friends that were staying there and loved the vibe. My first experience was prior to check in receiving a call to let us know that the car service would not be operating that night due to bad weather. When we arrived, roads were clear and weather was fine, although they advised that the service was not available. This was one perk that we really liked for dining nearby. We were sent an email advising us that we would be greeted at the parking lot by a valet, but no one was there. So, we checked in and butler at the desk was very nice. Our room had 2 portable heaters in place, as the main heat in the room was not working. In addition, we had broken glass on the floor of the bathroom, and a shower head that trickled water. After my shower, I went to find the hair dryer. Not in the room My husband went to the desk and was advised they don't have hair dryers. What the heck?? Upon checkout, we headed out to stairs that weren't shoveled. We did very much enjoy drinks in the main salon in front of the fireplace. All in all, the feel is like staying at someone's very cool house, but the parents aren't around and the kids are left to fend for themselves. They really need to step up their game at the mansion if they want to regain their footing as a luxury hotel.

AMAZINGThe staff there is so friendly, we are in our mid 20s and they still treated us as if we were a king and queen walking in. They give you a tour of the place before entering your room and they walk you right up to it and take care of all your bags and luggage for you. I highly suggest this place. Not to mention it is absolutely beautiful. We brought takeout food and they actually took it from us and set up a beautiful table for us in the ball room. Theres lots to do. The jet bathtub is gigantic and so relaxing. That was my absolute fav. They do everything for you to bringing left over food at 1am warmed up, to bringing cold wine and basically anything you need right to your door. You dont have to lift a finger. They also have a Range Rover that will bring you wherever you want to go as long as it is within a 3 mile radius as well. By far my favorite place to stay and the beds are so cozy for a good nights sleep.
