  Muy buen hotel en una Isla totalmente prescindible

  Esta situado en una enorme isla en la parte sur del mar de China, que está pensada exclusivamente para el turismo chino. No tienen ningún conocimiento del Inglés y si sales de los gustos chinos está perdidos. Las habitaciones (junior suite) son muy buenas. Es una isla que no vale la pena visitar para un occidental.

  Good place for a conference venue, but would hesitate as a holiday destination.

  I stayed at the Mangrove Tree Resort for three nights, October 2019, attending a conference there. As a conference venue it works really well - less than 30 minutes from Sanya Phoenix airport, very good conference facilities, and adequate catering for large numbers of people on a business visit. The guest rooms were large, comfortable, air conditioned and well sound proofed. I didnt notice any mosquitoes about. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and had well-appointed bathrooms, plus ironing board, room safe, power sockets that accepted just about any plug design and fast WiFi (though with the usual firewalls so no western social media or newspapers unless you have a vpn) On the negative side its not really set up for non-Chinese speaking visitors, the staff are lovely and try their best but not many have more than rudimentary English. Theres plenty of shopping (indeed a whole Mall downstairs) and food outlets but I heard that not all accept western cards, and the only ATM on site was not working so you need a short walk offsite to find one. There are swimming pools, play areas and good facilities for families with young children. Traffic is quite busy on the roads outside the venue so I rarely ventured far, but there are sites to see and a decent beach - I just didnt have time to see more. Worth a stay if you want an everything-on-one-site vacation in a warm, sunny location and like Chinese food and culture.

  hanging out with the well off Chinese holiday families

  attending a conference held in this resort/shopping precinct. the rooms were basic and had views of the other similar hotels-clearly a package holiday venue.Food was awful if you did not like meat-very little English spoken, not only in the restaurants but also at hotel reception which made for a uncomfortable visit.

  Worst Thai food ever

  I have travelled in Thailand and fell in love with the cuisine. But the Thai restaurant at the Mangrove in Yalong Bay's food was disgusting. Initially, I was impressed by the flavour of the red curry sauce, but the "lamb" was grey, with a huge layer of fat. It was barely edible. After noticing this, I became nauseous and couldn't finish my food. I still get sick just thinking of the grey, rubbery lamb. The worst part is that it cost ¥130!!! I'll never eat here again.

  Ok, but just ok.

  This hotel is build directly by the sea and is mostly clean. It has nice garden, lawn and pool areas, of which they take good care. The beach area is nice, clean and the beach is wide. The hotel isnt cheap, but it has not a high standard. The breakfast is mostly Chinese. The Café is expensive, they dont have all the dishes on the menu and they need a lot of time to prepare. By the way, everything here is expensive.
