Recommended!A short walk from the main tourist area, the Mangrove Oriental is an oasis away from the local bustle and other tourist activity. We stayed in a bungalow, which was air conditioned and very clean. You need to ask to have the room cleaned, but that was no problem. The only minor niggle was the absence of tea bags for breakfast for two consecutive days! That was a minor detail in an otherwise excellent stay. Ill be back!

Lovely place away from it allThis is a little bit of paradise. The resort comes with its own private beach (be careful or sea urchins though!) and a pleasant gardens and the main building has the feeling of colonial grandeur. I stayed in the bungalows which were great - basic but all you need. Unusually for these sorts of places, the water wad also very hot! Its a bit of a hike to Bounty Beach and to most dive places but to me that was more an advantage than a disadvantage. Breakfast was good, although served with typical Filipino timekeeping. Also a shame they only serve instant coffee! Overall a great place.

Nice resortThe resort comes with a small private beach which makes it amazing for people who want to avoid crowds. We stayed in a beachfront cottage which was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning worked well (this is a must for me in this climate). I can only recommended this resort.

Natural Beauty on Malapasqua IslandThe hillside cottages are quite peaceful and spacious. You are surrounded by nature and you can have a complimentary coffee or tea while you sit outside on your deck overlooking part of the beach. The reception and restaurant area are on the highest part of the island, with stunning sunrise and sunset views of the water. Breakfast is included and is cooked to order with coffee or tea. Very fresh and satisfying. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They will book island tours at reasonable rates and even set up an hour long in room full body message for 500p that will help you unwind from your busy island hopping or diving day. The only drawbacks are that you will need the staff to call you a motorbike to get back and forth to the 2 main beaches. 25p per person one way and some of the cottages do not have T.V, but the Banyan cottage I rented for 2 days did have a nice hot shower, a comfortable king size bed and a spacious room with patio. There is a variety of books to read on a nice wooden book shelf too. Bring supplies like snacks and beverages for the room because it is limited during the night hours. Wifi is limited and only available in the reception/lounge area of the resort. The lunch/dinner menu is limited so it's best to find other restaurants on the beach like Angelina's or Ocean Vida? If you enjoy natural beauty with rest and relaxation, this is the place for you

The best stay on MalapascuaBeautiful setting which felt like our own paradise. Clean and tidy room with AC that worked surprisingly well. Sweet, welcoming staff throughout. Owner is wonderful, she does everything possible to help. Only an easy 10 minute walk from the main beach, nice and secluded away from the sounds of dive boats and late night spots. Delicious morning pancakes. Couldnt recommend more highly, we felt so welcomed and it felt like such a special beautiful place to start our trip. Richard and Rebecca
