Such a wonderful place! My friend and I came to Yogya with no real plans. Our host Irfan was very helpful and accommodating. He booked a few trips for us last minute and even drove me 30minutes out of town to meet a friend. The homestay was wonderfully decorated and in a good location. It was just out enough that it was easy to get into town, but far enough away that it was quiet. I'd highly recommend staying here for you visit in Yogyakarta.

Too far and too oldFirst of all before listing the negative things about Mango Tree, I would like to highlight that the staff were really nice and helpful. That's probably the only saving grace of this place. However for the price we paid I guess we shouldn't be complaining. Shall not dwell on it and will only say it as it is. The stand fans in the rooms were super dusty. I started getting an allergy reaction because of this. I also think as a homestay, they probably can make the toilets/baths a bit further from the cooking area. Meanwhile the common area where ppl watch TV was very small and was right in front of the rooms. I mean even homestays have some kind of privacy right. On the first night because everything was so dimly lit, a small bug got into my eye. It happened in the shower (not the shared one because we changed rooms and paid extra) where it was particularly dark. Also Mango Tree is quite far from everything as it is located in a residential area. Getting Grab/Uber was not easy too because there are accesible road for cars. A lot of drivers and rickshaw guys dont know where it is. So this kind of limited our movement at night. Breakfast was the most basic. Toast and butter/jam. I wouldn't recommend this place. But if you want somewhere cheap and dont mind the inconvenience, go for it.

Simple and nice place with friendly and helpful owner. We stayed four days in Jogja and were happy to have chosen the Mango Tree Dipudjo Homestay because of the common area in the garden. It is very cute and chill to sit there and have a chat or plan your trips. Irfan the owner was very friendly and helpful.

Peacefull place and friendly owner/staff !This is our first experience travel to Jogjakarta and we have booked for 4 nights at Mango Tree homestay. First time we arrived here we were welcomed by the workers. Looking at the surroundings here it is very peaceful, has a mango fruit trees and small gardens. We booked standard room where it has queen bed, fan and with bathroom / toilet are at outside. They also provide facilities of a TV space to watch TV outside our room. Outside the homestay, there is also a small cottage to relax with few chairs and small table. What we can tell here, though the modest room condition we are amazed by the hospitality of people here as well as homestay owners and staff. Most of the time we were having trouble communicating with local residents and uber drivers, staff here helped us communicate with uber drivers and took us to the airport where we almost missed our flight as our 1st uber drivers had gone astray and did not get to our location for pick us up. On our 3rd day here, they also helped to send my friend to money changer near JalanPrawirotaman using motorcycle. For Gelato fans or for those who like to have dinner, this homestay is very close to the famous Tempo Gelato and food restaurant like Via Via Jogja etc which can be accessed by walking, Uber or motorcycles. The location is also adjacent to Malioboro street / mall where we go there using uber and only cost 9,000 rupiah! Staying here definately an experience we can not forget :)

Peacefull and cosyYogjakarta is a nice city but crowded and loud, so if you want to stay still close to the center but not in the middle of an action this is the place to be. Owner Irfan is a super nice guy, ask him also for the trips to Prambanan, Borobodur or the city itself or for the longer trips to Bromo and Ijen, he has all the informations you need as well as good friends who will help you along the way. We were accompanied by his friend Rahadiyan who was waiting for us at the airport, drive us to the temples and around the city snd dropped us off at the railway station. Close to the home stay there is an excellent local restaurants where also the local eats, on the other steet there is a Tigra bar, opposite a 24h market and a bit along the street with more tourist like bars and restaurants. The whole package makes the trip to Yogja really perfect!
