    Excellent staff

Our party of 4 stayed in two rooms at the end of July. The first room, was a standard hotel room - with double bed and single bed. It had a small balcony - with room only to fit the clothes dryer. Our second room was great - it was a family room/suite. it had one room with three twin beds in and a second room with a double bed. This room also had a slightly bigger balcony. Other rooms in the hotel have larger terraces or balconies. Some two bedroom suites have two bathrooms. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels replaced every day. The hotel has a small private beach - slightly pebbly - with sun beds and umbrellas. You can have a go at wind surfing or canoeing free of charge. There is a better, but busier public beach a 5 minute walk away. The hotel also allows you to use a sea water pool at this beach - which has water slides, children's pool, sun beds and umbrellas - free of charge. The facility is called the Ginepro. It was only just opening (filling the pool) when we arrived but by the end of the holiday, the pool was full. There is a bar and toilet facilities there. The pool is a good size. There were no problems with towels on sun beds! We were able to get four sunbeds together easily. The pool gets busy in the late afternoon, but there is still room for everyone. The pool and hotel beach have a "salvatagio" on hand during the day for assistance. We stayed for the first two weeks of the summer holidays and the hotel was definitely getting busier when we left. The pool might be a problem for some younger children as there is no gradual entry into the pool. The water is at least waist height at it's shallowest point. The hotel is mainly orientated for their french guests. Although the reception staff speak english, most of the entertainment staff do not - so a smattering of french or italian is worth knowing. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful - as with most 4* hotels there is something going on through out the day. Evening entertainment is in both italian and french, but still worth seeing. The food was excellent. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast - the only cooked item was eggs, but there was plenty of pastries to choose from. Your table for lunch and dinner is reserved for you at the start of the holiday. They tend to try and sit the English all together if they can - and you may end up sharing with another family. Both meals had plenty of food to offer. There was plenty of salad dishes to try, 4 pasta or risotto dishes, 4 meat or fish selections (two of which are barbecued) + the usual selection of veg. If you are looking for english food, this hotel is not for you, but if like us, you are looking for healthy selections of local fayre, it is great. There was always plenty of fruit available at both lunch and dinner. Ice-cream is available at lunchtime only. At all meals you get unlimited wine and water.

    club Cala Blu

This hotel is dreadful not at all designed for the english traveller nobody speaks english and they make no effort to do so.My family and those of the other english folks felt constantly isolated. Our children couldn't join in as i have said no effort was made to speak english not even for the children. The hotel admit to being a french/italian resort not english. So why on earth do Thomas Cook sell the holiday. Also the resorts web site claims a water slide when in fact it's at least least 700metres down the road and doesn't belong to the hotel. also the pool that the slide is in is salt water and made my husband and 8 year old sick. also the buses are very few and far between and cabs are virtually non exsistant. so if you were to venture out, you may well get stranded? Another good point that the travel Agent omitted is you cannot change money in hotels in Sardina it's is against the law. Only brought to out attention on the coach transfer, which by they way is over 2 hours. You have to hope you brought enough euros. The banks have armed guards and are only open at certain times, To change travellers cheques you need to go through airport type security. And the final indignation the French week is friday to friday, on there last evening they put on a champayne fairwell. On our last night they moved us to a table in the corner to make room the french. So I would NOT consider ever returning SO IF YOU WANT DISSAPOINTMENT AND YOUR CHILDREN IN TEARS THEN GO I WISH I HADN'T AND COULDN'T WAIT TO GET HOME.

    cala blu hotel

We have just arrived back from a weeks holiday at the cala blu. Overall we enjoyed this holiday. The food was wonderful plenty of choice. Our room was very clean with a spectacular view over the sea. but it was above the bar area that played music until midnight. Then the disco started and went on till 2am. We did ask if we could be moved to another room but I was told that the hotel was full. The music was turned down for the rest of the week. The reception, cleaning and catering staff were all very friendly. However there were some negative points. The main town is approx two miles away and the bus will make about four return trips a day at a cost of four euros. The animation team speak little English and will only make conversation with the French and Italian. They dont encourage the Enlish to join in any of the activities that are ongoing during the day.Of an evening there are only two forms of entertainment the piano bar and the animation team put on a show but not a word of English is spoken so you would be wise to learn one of the languages. On our last night there was a quiz in the bar , we had to have an inteperator as the questions where in Italian. However the English families all grouped together and made our own fun, but we have paid the same money as everybody else and feel that we should have been catered for.

    Vacaciones

Muy buen club, la atención excelente, los animadores súper amables, las habitaciones confortables, el menú del restaurante bueno y variado y para terminar dos playas que están cerca, de las cuales una es perfecta para bañarse.
