  Cosy stay with wonderful hosts!

  We loved our overnight stay in Steve and Claire's guesthouse.The room was comfortable and the hosts were very warm and welcoming.We had a guided tour of their beautifully restored guesthouse and enjoyed dinner in the local pub.We could park our car within the premises and near our room which was very convenient.

  great stay

  Our 3rd Stay here and as always a great experience. Couldn't wish for a better place to stay if in Goulburn. Host Steve is friendly and professional. Rooms are spacious with all amenities needed. Thankyou for you hospitality.

  You learn new things every day! What an eye opener this little jewel is.

  I've known of Mandelsons for a long while, but had never thought of staying there until now. I never expected the historical significance that this hotel wields in the great scheme of things in our NSW and national history. The restorative wonders that Steve and Claire Ayling have lavished on the property since they took over in 2011 are striking and yet completely faithful to the period in which it had its heyday. Make sure to ask either Steve or Clair for a tour of the ballroom. It's something you wish that your rich uncle owned so that you could visit all the time. The room I occupied was very cosy, being freezing outside. The bed was super comfy and the room temperature was perfect. In contrast, the bathroom is thankfully fully up to date, and very nicely appointed as well. A must if you're passing though!

  Historic jewel

  If you are looking for a short stay or overnight stop in a place with character and history as opposed to a square block same old featureless accommodation then this is a must. There are a couple of bedrooms in the small rear courtyard with furniture in keeping with the rest of the property. The small ensuite is nicely tiled and has hot water immediately available - no long wait whilst shivering. Wifi is good and the bed extremely comfortable. Steve and Claire exude charm and warmth, they proudly showed me around the private quarters of the main house which has been restored to its former glory by a previous owner with little expense spared. From the warm marble hallway to the upstairs ballroom, it really is an impressive interior. The high drapes and furniture along with axminster carpets stand out. I really appreciate the friendly and personal service, it was like visiting old friends rather than strangers. I was able to park my car inside the locked back gate next to my room, nice and secure. Loved the history and stay, the only shame was it was just the one night.

  A lovely and historical place to stay

  This was our second stay at Mandelson's and was just as enjoyable as the first. Ground floor rooms are spacious and quiet with all required amenities. Car parking is very limited and it is wise to confirm this as part of your booking. Friendly hosts including their two (under control) dogs who gave also a good welcome. Well located close to restaurants and transport.
