  great staff - romantic place

  a beautifull little romantic room in a "Fachwerkhaus" and a warm welcome by the staff. Superb rain-shower , senseo-coffee and a bottle of Gerolsteiner in the room and a "glass sekt" to welcome us. A breakfast at a high level. A place for our car just in front of the hotel. We have been served like "queens and kings". Thanks Malerwinkel Hotel.

  Fell in Love with Art Loving Boutique Hotel

  We flew into Cologne with loads of bags as part of a five week trip across Europe, part business part pleasure. I was worried that the hotel room which had been booked for us might have been too small for all our things but then I entered my room - the Albrecht Durer suite!! I discovered from my friends that each room featured prints by and books about different artists and were decorated in quirky but very comfortable ways. Excellent service, unusually friendly staff and lovely surroundings - perfect for two days of meetings. And I LOVED the breakfast area with beautiful tea cabinet. Hope to return for a longer stay.

  Nice and welcoming hotel

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Malerwinkel hotel. The hotel is beautiful and rooms were nice and clean and the staff were so welcoming and kind. We loved the breakfast buffet and the small extras like tea, coffee and the on the house minibar.

  2 nights in Bergisch Gladbach

  Because of the advertising in their website of a different hotel concept and rooms with different designs, I decided to stay at this hotel. The first expression was all I expected, lovely surroundings and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The deception came when I was led to my room. It was a room lowered into the ground and the window leading directly to a small park where people staying at the hotel could sit and read, have breakfast or whatever. I had to have my curtains drawn all the time, the only way to have some privacy. That was a major drawback and I really think the hotel owner should correct the room. As almost everywhere in Germany, people are prepared for cold weather, not so much for heat. To sleep the first night was really difficult because it was extremely hot. The second night the staff brought a fan to the room and I was able to rest well. The room itself was ok in size for one person on a short stay, everything very clean. And let me pronounce one more time, the staff was extremely nice and helpful.

  Excellent accommodation and welcoming staff.

  Stayed for one night whist visiting Cologne. I only need a single room which was described as "single mini" and was concerned it would be cramped for space, however the room was sufficiently roomy. The lady on reception was very welcoming and showed me to my room. Everything was clean and fresh with good amenities including free drinks in the mini bar. I wanted to stay an extra night but they were fully booked, not surprising as this hotel is really charming. It is close to several restaurants in the town and has ample parking. Breakfast was very good. Would be happy to stay again.
