Perfect for sightseeingThe Maison dul las Metro is situated between the Cavour and Musee stations, equi distance 2 mins. On the corner is the Archeological Museum and a short walk is the Piazza Bellini with plenty of life, people watching and some good restaurants. We were very happy with our room, it was clean, plenty of good hot water, hairdryer, kettle for tea and air con. The bed was super comfy and the pillows nice and springy. Breakfast ordered the night before for a specified time, delivered with a smile by a very nice lady, thank you. A selection of cakes, coffee ect. The rooms are on the second floor (20cents payable in the lift). Secure door with knowledgeable host, Alessandro. We felt very at home and cared for. If we were to go back to Naples we would certainly return to this hotel.

Interesting Little B & B!I must admit, the photos on the website do a great job of selling the place, after all it was one of the reasons why we chose it, as well as being centrally located and very close to the metro station in the old part of town. We were 2 couples on a 5 day city break in late October. Upon arrival, the place was quite difficult to find after the taxi driver had dropped us off. The entrance is shared with other businesses and flats amongst a 5 or 6 storey run of old terraced building, via an unsuspecting lobby and the only sign is the sticker on the door buzzer, so look carefully or you'll miss it. After being 'buzzed' in, we were told to go to the 2nd floor by the voice on the intercom. We proceeded through the lobby and found a small lift which just about fit 1 person and 2 suitcases, which was coin operated by a 20 cent. We we arrived at the front door to the actual hotel and we had to be buzzed in again and upon entering. By this time we had realised that things were remotely controlled! There was a small concierge lobby with an unmanned front desk and a couple of envelopes containing the room keys and information about check out and general hotel etiquette. The rooms themselves are fine and basic but clean. We were allocated the Museo rooom and the Dante room, and later realised that the rooms were actually named after local metro stations, hence the hotel's name. Room Museo had a Juliette balcony and room Dante had a tall generous window, both opening onto an inward facing private courtyard belonging to adjoining terraced properties, but the windows provided ample of sunlight into the rooms which allowed us to wake up to nice morning sunshine. The shower and toilet to Museo room was clean, hot water was instant and limitless. However the water pressure to the sink mixer was visibility low and only allowed for the rinsing of finger tips! Room Danted shower/toilet was peculiarly triangular in shape and featured a broken toilet seat! Another negative point was that we had to endure used towels for the duration of our 5 day stay. Breakfast was interesting as we couldn't find a dining room or restaurant, but later realised that breakfast is delivered to the rooms according to the order form which was to be filled in everyday at the 'empty' front desk. There was only a choice of beverages (coffee, tea, orange juice or water) to go with the standard issue cereal and croissant that everyone gets, at least that was our understanding of the form but not alway the case, it would seem. The morning chocolate and cream cakes were mostly left untouched, perhaps it was a culture thing, but a simple bowl of cereal and milk would have sufficed, oh, and a bowl to eat the cereal with would have been useful too! Quality of sleep would have been good if not for the constant ruffling sound of the plastic mattress cover under the bed sheets and the constant early morning (7.30 onwards) drilling and refurbishment noise from next door. The aircon was surprisingly good - remotely controlled, responsive, quite operation and cooled the room very quickly, we had to turn it off while we slept as it got too cold. All in all, the good points just about cancel out the bad, but provided a pleasant base from which to explore Napoli on a budget city break. Pros: Central location, close to metro station, clean rooms, openable windows/balcony, good aircon. Cons: Difficult to find at first, lack of human contact on front desk, water pressure to sink and broken toilet seat, uncomfortable bed.

what a great little B&Bjust got back to England after a short trip to Naples where we stayed a for 3 nights at this little modern delight. Being a frequent hotel stayer on business back in dear old blighty I was bored with the typical chain hotels (Mercure etc) so decided to use Tripadvisor and Google to find a little gem for our short trip - and to follow up my excellent find in Budapest last year, I unearthed another absolute gem in Maison du la Metro. Like much of Naples, the area is old and tatty - the entrance to the hotel is a shared affair, hit the buzzer, gave our name and the door opened, went to 2nd floor, buzzer again, in we went - the reception area was un-staffed, but check-in was ultra swift and we were in our room in minutes. The room? Basic, but modern and very clean, en-suite was the same. Air-con was cold (and needed as it was very warm while we were in Naples) - a little balcony gave you a chance to do some people watching and be shocked by the standard of driving (just like the whole of Naples). Breakfast was brought to the room each day on time and comprised of coffee, juice and pastries - all fresh and tasty. We had a great stay here!!

Maison du le metro reviewWe stayed for a total of 4 nights and we found the hotel spot on for what we needed, there was no problems checking in, the room we had was clean and well maintained, the locations was right in the middle of Naples and within walking distant to pretty much everything we needed to see. We had a small selection of what was on offer each morning for breakfast but it was delivered to the room every morning on time and it was just right to start the day. We found the the whole experience very enjoyable and would stay here again if we went back to Naples and I will be recommending this hotel to anyone I know visiting the city in the future
