Hidden gem in south of France

We had the pleasure to stay twice at Maison 9 and each time we enjoyed the House and the lovely area. The staff is very friendly and does its best to make your stay awesome. To start the day a wonderful breakfast is served either in the lovely kitchen or in the garden. The place is very tranquil and offers plenty of places to sit, enjoy the sun and even has a swimming pool. Staying at Maison 9 feels like being home and we are already looking forward to come back.

    Provencale Perfection - faultless

We stayed here for 6 nights in mid July. 4 suites, amazing pool with more than 8 (the maximum number of guests) sun loungers laid out with fresh towels each day, so never a decision sun or shade or coming in for a dip at the end of a day's sightseeing. Another review commented on the walk into and back from the port (where all the restaurants and little shops are). We found no issue at all with safety. The first few hundred metres there is no pavement but it is a very quiet road and all cars on it take care as it is windy and could be cars coming the other way. The rest of the way there is pavement and pedestrian crossings (which in this part of the world the drivers respect - who knew?!). Even in the dark we never felt unsafe. It is an easy 15 minutes walk in right to port side and 15-20 minutes back as a little bit more uphill. The rooms was perfectly appointed - towels, toiletries (though the toiletries are not replenished), wonderful shower, air con quiet and effective. A little kitchen area with all plates, glasses which was great for bringing a baguette, cheese back to have on our private terrace. We would barely have needed lunch as breakfast looking out over the provencale vineyards was freshly prepared fruit, yoghurts, local honey, platter of cheeses and cold meats and then cooked eggs and bacon, all brought to our table. You could not wish for a better mix of absolute peace and also information provided if you ever needed it (when is market day? Friday; a good restaurant? Many but our out and out favourite O Rev in a side street just off the port). English well spoken. Private hotel parking at no extra cost. WiFi very good. We hated to leave and will definitely be back. We had suite 1. Fabulous. Suite 2 is on the pool but all 4 suites had total privacy.

    Absolutely fabulous

A fantastic find. In a quiet road surrounded by vineyards and tress and with fantastic views of the mountains opposite Maison 9 offers tranquility. 4 suits in total so never more than 8 guests. A beautiful swimming pool with plenty of loungers and fresh towels daily. The rooms are to a very high specification having been designed by the owner who has a fantastic eye for the right furniture in the right style to make you feel very spoiled. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful - every day we left breakfast feeling that lunch wasnt strictly necessary (though neither of us was about to pass an opportunity to feast on lunch each day!). The owner and host were delightful - friendly, generous and good fun. The only bad thing was having to leave. A truly wonderful place to stay and explore Cassis which is only a 10-15 minute stroll away.

What an extraordinary place to stay! Cynthia and Barbara were the most wonderful people to have met. Each morning started with a homemade breakfast with fresh fruit from their garden accompanied with anything you desired. The rooms were so cozy, as if I was staying at my familys home abroad. The decor was beautiful, the rooms were so clean, and the welcome into Maison-9 was one I hope to experience again. I would stay here in a heartbeat!

    Exquisite, Exceptional, and Enchanting

Maison 9 gets five stars plus from us! As far as we are concerned, this is THE PLACE to stay in Cassis. It is absolutely beautiful in every way. The location is just a ten minute walk to the seaside town of Cassis, and if driving, not even a five minute drive. The views of the surrounding countryside, including not only the vineyards but also the mountains, are exceptional. The accommodations are of the highest level. Of the four suites available, we were in Suite #1. It had a beautiful patio that looked out on the vineyards and the mountains. The air conditioned room was large, tastefully decorated and very very comfortable. The pool area was also amazing with stunning views of the countryside. Breakfast was delicious and included just about anything you would want. In fact, my wife has food allergies and Cynthia and Barbara went to great lengths to accommodate those allergies. Cynthia and Barbara also added their personal recommendations and suggestions for things to do and see in Cassis. We stayed here for two nights, and our only regret was not being able to stay longer. If you are going to Cassis, consider this exceptional place. It is quiet, serene, beautiful, and accommodating, and you will feel that you are truly experiencing the Provence countryside, while having direct access to the hustle and bustle of Cassis. In a word, we would describe our stay at Maison 9 as magical.
