6 STARS the Best Hospitality Experience of our Lives! This was our 3rd and last property on our Kanha + Bandhavgarh trip and boy did we save the best for last! The service level was so above and beyond that we know were am coming back 100% My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and here is our review. 1)OVERALL HOTEL & LOCATION - 10/10 Within 10min of all the 3 gates of the park, it is located very conveniently from the park and the small town around it. So you dont spend time getting to and from the park gates. At arrival you enter into 40 acres of the forest with 5 acres of built-in area and are first taken to the beautiful lounge/dining area. This area overlooks the meadow bordering which are trees filled with dazzling birds species (tons of grey hornbills, green pigeons etc). It is built beautifully with plenty of chairs and seats to sip your drink and looking out at the sunlit meadow or wait for dusk to turn into night. There is also an indoor lounge/bar section next to a fireplace which was lovely in wintery November. Best place to read up or enjoy a chat with the wonderful lodge manager, Amit. And finally a dining section with two large communal tables but we never had our meals there. My section on service will explain why. There are 12 rooms and though they are built close to each other you dont feel cramped. The pool was not operational due to Covid but we didnt miss it in the cold. Because it is built on flat land and not too spaced out it is perfect for families with older members or children. They also have a nature trail within the property but a wild boar had just given birth hence it was deemed unsafe to disturb the family and the trail was closed temporarily. We did manage to see the family which was delightful with the cute little boar babies. 2)ROOMS 10/10 12 rooms built fairly close to each other. At first, we felt some more space would increase the sense of privacy but we later it didnt bother us at all. Rooms are lovely. Built like a typical village house with cute local art and nooks. The colour scheme is earthy rust which really warms up the place. Coming from Banjaar Tola the rooms feel small at first but at no point did we feel we needed more space. On the contrary, the room feels cosy. The heating works wonderfully. There is a spacious sink and dressing area, a lovely bathtub, a very village-like shower area and a toilet. Outside the room there is a lovely courtyard with a day bed, traditional cot and coffee table and chairs to lounge in the sun and look at the view. 3)FOOD 11/10 Chef Ajit is a star! The food is outstanding, to say the least. Every meal he used to come to ask us what wed like in the next. He suggested dishes, all of which we loved. Fish & chips, local Indian fare, pasta, pizza, grilled fish with mash & veggies, kebabs & paratha, Chinese all served with delicious soup to start. The food was unbeatable. The breakfast on safari was lovely too. I am sure he had an excellent team cause we could not find a fault with anything we ate! The best and most consistent food, in terms of taste and quality, weve had in any of our stays anywhere in the world. 4)STAFF & SERVICE 11/10 I dont know where to begin. Lodge manager Amit, naturalist Karun, Bhola our butler, Bishnu & Rama our stand in butlers, Bi the petite masseuse, Atul the interim manager who checked us out, Chef Ajit & his team, the ghost team (housekeeping who you NEVER see. Every time we left our rooms and got back everything was neatly folded sometimes 5 times a day!) and everyone else who made our stay perfect, thank you. It is a killer team! As I mentioned earlier we never had our meals in the main dining hall. Every meal was either in a different place! Under the cool afternoon sun, or in the cabana overlooking the meadow, by the pool, in the bush, on the terrace and so on. The last dinner was in our rooms courtyard! For the dinners the team used to do up the designated place with lamps, tea lights and bonfires - it is all too stunning and romantic. They lug the dinner from the dining hall (every course separately so it doesnt turn cold). The butler waits at enough distance to give you privacy yet come running if you gesture even the slightest. Twice in our 4-night stay they had a hot bath ready in the evening. Once they even decorated our room with rose petals and candles and had a rose bath all set. What a beautiful surprise! I dont think there was anything more special weve experienced. 5)SAFARI EXPERIENCE 10/10 We had the man himself, Karun, as our naturalist. On our first 3 safaris, it was just us, the forest guide, Karun and his indomitable love for tigers. It was a treat to have the most incredible sighting with him. Karun is a great storyteller and he enthralled us with his rich experience in all the famous tiger parks of central India. In our last 2 safaris we had another couple but we didnt mind it. The weather was overcast so we enjoyed sitting on the back seats for the best views of the forest. 6)COVID RELATED 10/10 Everyone wore a mask, there were sanitizers everywhere even the rooms. The ones in the room were very convenient spray bottles. Im sure there was much more care taken behind the scenes and we placed our trust in Taj to do good by us. Everything looked and felt really clean. The level of service this lodge provides is unimaginable. We thought we had seen the best but Mahua Kothi proved us wrong. Personal yet professional, friendly yet discreet, never missing a step. Kudos to Amit and his team. You guys are a stellar lot. We shall be back for sure!

Every Taj Lodge is Unique in its own way! Hospitality Beats the previous experience everytime. We traveled as a family of 3 to Taj Mahua Kothi, we have been to Banjar tola(Kanha) and Pashan Garh(Panna) before. Very silent and calm place with a lot of light and greenery around. This was our first visit after pandemic do we were a little sceptical about the places. Amit who manages the place ensured we get our all questions answered to feel secure about the stay and travel. Kartikey, or naturalist cum friend ensured we get two sightings in our two drives that's a 100% strike rate. He has a thorough playful understanding of Bandhavgarh as a jungle. Ajit our Chef pretty much served everything we asked for even if it ment making things tasteful without access to all the spices and ingredients from the market. You must try Bamboo Achaar, these guys make pickle of anything and everything. Bhola & Ram, our Buttler's ensured we enjoy our lunch and dinners at different from the regular places with a lot of fire arrangements to keep ourselves warm in the open. Ensure you get to have dinner arrangements at your porch and terrace. After our stay of 3 days we proceeded to rewa and while coming back we asked if we could have a lunch there and team was helpful enough to accommodate us for lunch as they don't usually entertain non resident guests. A must visit place I must say!

Tajness at its bestWe traveled as a family with 1 child. Bandhavgarh was the 3rd Taj Lodge in the series of Pench (in Nov) and Panna (Dec) - and truly, the best was reserved for the last. 1. Rooms: 12 cottages in unique village-style : we had cottage 2. The main room is smaller compared to other Taj Lodges of Pench and Panna (which are massive), but its cosy with all the facilities and a nice outer courtyard where we enjoyed our in-between safaris time and evening snacks. 2. Safaris: We had zero tiger sightings before Bandhavgarh - and here we had 100% hit rate (tells you how much luck has a role), We had 3 tiger sightngs in 3 drives - and all of them were clear and good. We took 1 drive with Taj and other 2 on our own with local guides. The drive with Taj turned out to be the best : the team of Taj Naturalist (Raj ji) and local guide Raghuji - was a great time and we saw "Chota Bheem" for almost 30 min : prowling, spray marking, taking a bath in the pond, crossing the road. Raj ji with his exceptional tracking skills and perspective of the jungle that can only come through experience - is a real gem. The other 2 naturalists : Karun (head naturalist) - we had some great conversations and he gave us some good insights and recommendations and Karthikeya : his presentation with Raj ji on life of tigers was an Aha moment and we learnt a lot. 3. Food: Food was some of the best we had across the 3 Taj lodges - Chef Ajit deserves a special mention for taking care of our preferences and dishing out one blockbuster after another. The Badelkhandi Thali was a treat. 4. Burlet service: Butler Bhola (our main butler) and Butlers Rama and Bishnu were impeccable in their hospitality - they were always there for anything. 5. Spa : My wife and I availed the spa and the therapist was amazing - we had a relaxing massage. 6. Lastly, the interactions with the Lodge managers was a highlight. Amit Singhvi (the GM) - had a captivating conversation about resorts and hotels and his leadership reflects in the Tajness of the lodge. Amit Namdeo - had a great time interacting with him and his family. Excellent stay and experience - Tajness at its best.

Very disappointedActually i didnt stayed in the property because at my dates the price was quite high but being a taj InnerCircle member i went to visit the property out of my curiosity and guess what i was very much disappointed to see the poor maintainence of the property plus the staff member who showed us the property was sounding very arrogant...Its the first time in my life when i found myself to be very pleased of not staying with taj ..For taj i would only say please take this review very seriously...thanks

Outstanding! The arrival, the room, the service, the care, three different sets of meals on three days - all in very different ambience and atmosphere, the chef, the general manager of the lodge (Amit), the drives, the naturalist (Raj Kishore), the knowledge - all OUTSTANDING!
