les deux alpesthe location of the apartments for a ski in out holiday are very good.If you like to stay in and relax after an hard days skiing then again ok for that as they are clean and tidy and for a budget place to stay very adequate.if you are to stay here a car is ideal as it is a good walk to the supermarkets to fetch food also a good walk up hill on the way back.If you also like to check out the night life at the bars in resort again it is a good walk to the centre of town and beyond.A six day ski pass allows use of the swiming pool ice rink and free night skiing again in the centre of town.

A return to the 70'sReminds me of a hotel on the Costa Del Sol circa 1972, and if you're after luxury this is not the place for you, but if you want a mustard coloured bathroom and hessian wallpaper and comfy, well appointed accommodation (more seats, cutlery and crockery than beds!) that you don't have to worry about this is perfect. The bathroom is like I remember the one in my family home in the 70's, a substantial bath with shower attachment but no curtain, but I prefer a bath after a day's skiing. Usual eclectic selection of utensils - a salad spinner (which we use as a fruit bowl) and mouli grater (another 70's throwback) but no mixing bowl, whisk, kettle, measuring jug or fish slice. The sharp knife wasn't and couldn't use the peeler. Luckily we know all this and take our own and Reception supplied a mixing bowl on request. English spoken at Reception (which it shares with the other Maeva hotel next door Les 2 Alpes), and friendly but as others have said quite short hours. We're skiers and really only wash, eat and sleep there. Good skiing location, short walk to the main slopes and even shorter to the access to the Vallee Blanche. Quite a walk to the town and uphill on the way back, not good when you've been shopping but the free bus (every 20 mins) drops you right outside. This also means that it's quiet as the resort can be lively in the evening. Nearest shops are up the mountain in 1800, where there are restaurants, boulangerie and a Sherpa corner shop. Beds are comfy. The ski lockers aren't heated but are well inside the building and our stuff was dry in the mornings. Liked it so much we've booked to return.

Cheap & CheerfulVery basic accommodation which is functional and very low cost for our stay over Christmas. Ski in ski out and good ski lockers but lots of steps to get in and out of the accommodation - perhaps try the the Club Jandri next door for a little more comfort for a little more money :)

Bit dated - but okay for what you pay - hotel manager a real charmThe hotel is a bit dated, but overall comfortable and clean. You get what you pay for. Apartments slightly bigger than usual. Close to the slopes to ski down to them main skilifts, but not quite ski in ski out - the skilockers are located down 2 flights of stairs, which is not great and mind you safe once you got your skiboots on and carrying your own and your kids ski's! We were invited to a info and welcoming event in the hotel on the Sunday evening. It was being hosted by the manager of this particular hotel. With French, UK and Dutch school holidays the audience was mostly French with a handful of guests like ourselves that dont understand a word of French. A very helpful and polite member of the hotel staff started translating at the back of the hall, which irritated the manager. My guess is he did not appreciate that everybody is not solely focussed on him, the main attraction of the evening. He therefore rebuked her, despite our protest, to stop....guess typical French behaviour, just a shame it came from the host/manager. Needless to say we felt unwelcome and left the meeting.

Basic but practicalGreat location, effectively ski in / ski out. If you want a place to lay your head for the night, cook for yourself and be a short walk to the the lifts and the resort centre, then this is a good place to be. Ask for a room with a view, though I'm guessing most of them do. Look out of just about any window in the resort and you'd be bound to see an alp or two. I have not given Maeva tops marks, not because it's basic. Basic is good sometimes; depends what you're looking for. No, rather 2 minus points. Firstly, no free wi-fi. Instead they charge 20 per device, per room for internet access for a week. This is not acceptable, it is a rip-off. This is 2019. Free wi-fi is a given. I suggest not to pay and use 4G instead. Secondly, Maeva does not accept credit cards for your final check out, even though your deposit is secured by means of a card. I cannot recall ever having been to form of lodging where they don't accept credit cards. They need to get with the programme.
