Fantastic- Will definitely be back!Arrived on a Sunday, so no-one at reception, but keys were in box accessable via a code, and easy to find! Apartment was basic but clean and fit for purpose. One bonus was the dishwasher! The pool was a nice temperature and was cleaned daily. There was a laundry on site too. Not many shops open on Sundays, but we found an '8 a huit' shop open in nearby plomodiern, a 5 minute drive away, and managed to get pretty much all we needed there. We visited many towns and villages; Finistere really is a beatiful region. A particularly beautiful place was Locronan, well worth a visit. The enclosed village in Colcarneau is fantastic too. Visited off-season so don't know what it would be like in the summer months, but I suspect busy! Would be good for a family holiday as the pool and huge beach are nearby.

A lovely family holidayWe escaped the doom and gloom of rainy and wet Ireland and went on our summer holiday to Pentrez Plage for a week of sun and fun. We weren't disappointed the appartment was lovely and we all enjoyed our stay there so much so that we cannot wait to be back. The two bedrooms were directly under the roof and really bright and airy. The kids loved the garden and the seaview. The interior of the appartment was clean and immaculate. We didn't pay the extra charge for TV reception and the kids never missed it. The appartments were only a 5 minute walk from the beach and you could order fresh bread for breakfast at the reception desk every evening. The only "down-side" I can think of is the long lunch break the staff take (from 12 till 3 pm) every day. We were very sorry we'd only booked a weeks holidays here and can't wait to be back for more. Next time we'll make it a two week holiday.

Residence Les Terrasses de Pentrez-PlageWe arrived saturday 3rd Aug.. have been given Duplex 24 over looking the car park. At first I was a little disappointed, but to be honest you don't really notice the car park. We can see the sea in between the other houses and we are near the reception and pool, which is great, I can also get a signal wifi in the sitting room. All that you can read on Trip Advisor about this place is true.. a real gem, the beach is vast and sandy, the Residence is calm even though it is full now... everyone respects the 'code of calm'. Totally wonderful and if you are hesitating about reserving this place, then DON'T.. you will love it... We have still 5 days to go to discover the beautiful surroundings. Ref: the logements... very clean and comfortable... bliss

Excellent value budget accomidation, lovely beachA basic but good value complex of holiday apartments run by the French Vancaceole company, which is 5-mins walk from the long sandy beach of Pentrez-la-Plage. There are additional facilities like a launderette, small indoor pool and bike hire and you can pre-order rolls for breakfast (The hamlet of Pentrez has a cafe/beach shop and two creperies but not much more). The apartments are basic but not spartan and are clean and of good quality and the complex is well designed so you are do not feel overlooked by neighbors. The one thing to remember is that you will need to bring all supplies with you right down to salt and pepper, bin bags and toilet rolls. The reception is competent and well organised - arrangements for picking up the key (from post box at the entrance to the car park opened by code) when we arrived were straightforward and a broken window was fixed in double quick time. Staff speak reasonable English as far as we could tell but were happier speaking French to us when they realized we knew a bit of the language, . The main attraction of the area is the beach - so you are dependent on the weather and/or will need to be prepared to drive around. When we stayed guests were 75% French with remainder mainly German, although large piles of English books to borrow suggest they have a fair number of British visitors too. Most extras (TV, cleaning after stay etc) are payable which we did not really mind as the accommodation was very good value via the deal we got Brittany Ferries. There is also flexibilty around how long you book for provied you stay more than 4 days - I believe you can book direct via Vancancole website.

Time for refurbishmentDon't let the web site fool you. We stayed there for a week recently. From the outside the buildings look good and the grounds well kept. The staff were helpful but that's when it ended, our one bedroom cottage was extremely basic. Upstairs a double bed with bathroom-a steep climb over the bath side to access the shower was not easy if you are short or if you were less able. The bathroom also had a wash hand basin. Down steepish stairs-at the bottom is the toilet but no wash hand basin, so you need to wash hands in kitchen sink!! Not hygienic. Kitchen basic and kettle etc poor quality.behind the sink the boarding has no mastic so water has ingressed so looks shabby. Had to ask for cushions for bed/lounge seating and were given last two one of which was in need of repair. Table and chairs bit bashed about. No mats/coasters supplied so hot or wet cups on wood don't make for looking after furniture. Outdoor furniture supplied-ours were different to others in that chairs were upright and not armchairs so ok for eating but not comfortable to sit out to enjoy the sun. They are well situated and the beach is easily accessible. Would go back to Pentrez but not at this place.
