Nice lake, the park itself needs changes....The park is located in a very nice a quiet region. This would be it. The organization of the park is one big mess. We have booked 2 apartments for four people and at the time of arrival were told that this was not true. We had conformation e-mail for booking.com. After demonstrating evidence the reception stuff was still not convinced. We were not offered apologies but instead we felt like intruders that are doing difficult. All in all the stuff offered us a solution. Not a perfect one: first night in 7 person house - very small (small living + two tiny bedrooms). The two following nights we have had to separate apartments but not next to each other as requested. The pass needed for activities, the payable small TV, internet which logs you off continuously this was just so silly that it become funny. Very good example how to annoy your customers. Well done! Oh, and mind the aquarium: the idea of having the sweet water fish - a very nice one. However, the tour around the aquarium will take you max 15 minutes, the price for adult is ~6 euro. Really not worth the money. The on the spot restaurants are dull and would not call them this, these are rather snack bars. We tried two of them. Two people out of 8 got stomach problems. Take your swimming pants- the old style. The boxer type are not permitted.... My recommendation: forget it, not worth the effort.

Holiday at Lac ValJolyWe have just returned from a fabulous week stay at Lac de Val Joly. The madames vacances cottages we stayed in were very nice (3-4*) and we had a lovely view of the lake. We enjoyed many activities including canoeing, horse riding, archery, ariel tree trekking, mini golf and trampolining. We also used the 3 indoor and 2 outdoor swimming pools and there were also bubble pools and a water slide. Everything was very clean and well maintained and the staff were very helpful, even with our beginners French in a very remote part of France. We found the supermarket to be very useful for the basics and also had a good selection of wine and fresh baguettes. The restaurants were also very nice, we had take away pizza, take away rotisserie chicken and potatoes and we also had waffles in the salon de tea. All in all a lovely break and we will certainly come back again.

Great timeJust got backs from fantasitic week long break staying in one off he cottages. I am really a bit surprised at some of the more negative comments. We stayed inn a two bedroom cottage, near the top of th park , about 5 mins or so from the main activity area. This cost198 euros for the entire week including unlimited access to the on onsite pool, which has a slide,a wave machine and small river flow area, and a seperate lane pool for a swimming. My two kids aged3 and 6 loved itand we went every day. Others activities are charged. We did 30 mins pedalo hire on the lovely lake, a half day hire of two bikes including a child seat, 4 people playing mini golf and two kids access to the tree top adventure. This used up 52 credits, which cost approx 60 euros. A comparable week during the school Holidays in England at Centre parks is the better part of 1000 quid and having been there it is no where near worth the difference. We ate at the onsite restaurants twice - first and last nights - food fine, not fancy but good And very reasonable. The sites is beautiful, with lovely walks. We did not take theTV , so I don't know if it is worth bothering. I paid 5 euro for wifi for 24 hours - you can used that cumulatively and so it was plenty. We thought it was great!

Constant birdsong, beautiful siteWe went here at half term, it rained everyday, but that didn't spoil the experience. We managed to go on the electric boats, go kayaking, paddle boarding, play impossible crazy golf, swim, sauna, my child went riding twice and loved it. There were indoor games, shops. There were some activities we were a bit disappointed we couldn't do as local kids were using the facilities. But we travelled about, shopping in France and Belgium, and had a day in Luxemburg.

Fantastic lake viewsWe had a wonderful stay at Vale holy in August for 10 nights. We had an excellent lake view cottage and we were situated a short stroll to the centre of the village which its restaurants and shops. The weather was superb and therefore visited the outdoor pool most days it was great for our children as shallow with plenty of sunbeds. The lake offered a whole host of water activities to enjoy as well. There was plenty there to keep us busy and the tree top courses were excellent and we felt compared to UK prices really good value even with the pound not being very strong. Highly recommended will definitely return again. Book clear lake view for her best views front row cottage.
