  Wonderful Staff

  Warm and friendly staff on our arrival, this continued throughout our stay. Dog friendly room, even brought extra dog towels because of adverse weather outdoors. Evening meal was excellent, comfy bar and lounge. Only downside was the bed really does need new mattress.

  Birthday Break

  This was a reaction booking to the announcement of the latest lockdown, as we were due to go away at the end of the week, but that was now not possible. We had spotted the hotel on a walk in July, so decided to book for one night. On arrival, the usual Covid rules were in place, and we were shown to our room. This was very spacious, and being on the ground floor, we had our own patio. Our evening meal was delicious, and the service was exemplary from the young staff. Breakfast was tasty and filling with again, attentive and caring staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return next year. Highly recommended.

  A wonderful break

  We had a wonderful short break at this beautiful hotel. Everything was spotless, it was decorated beautifully, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Every Covid precaution was taken so that you felt completely safe and you were made to feel special - including our dog. We found Anna, Rosie and Grace especially friendly and attentive and I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. The garden was also beautiful - even in winter!

  Outstanding lunch at the Dales

  I visited last week and just wanted to say that everything was excellent. The waitress was multitasking and very friendly, the food was outstanding. The fires were going nd it was lovely and warm. Can't wait to visit again.

  Unhelpful and unsympathetic

  In 2020 my wife bought me a surprise voucher for a two night stay through Buyagift, specifying this particular hotel. The full amount for the voucher was paid up front. When I tried to book, I was abruptly told by a dismissive member of staff that they are not taking any voucher bookings this year. I pointed out that we were almost entirely flexible on dates and we had paid up front for the stay. The member of staff was entirely unsympathetic and didn't want to listen when I explain that they were selling vouchers through buyagift and therefore had an obligation to honour them. I understand that the hotel trade had been disrupted this year but as we were flexible as to when we stayed, I do not except that they could not have accomodated us for two nights at some point during the year. We have been left feeling rather cheated and will have to take this up with Buyagift to see where we go from here. I feel this matter has been dealt with in a rather dishonest way by the hotel, who are apparently happy for people to pay large amounts of money up front to stay at the hotel and then refuse to honour them. The member of staff I dealt with, whilst not rude, was entirely unhelpful and showed no sympathy at all.
