  Good location excellent service and staff

  We needed a 1 night stay for a business meeting plus fit in a couple of walks. Booking direct we got the winter20 deal £105 for an executive rooms with £24 each dinner allowance. Arrival was very welcoming and a lovely log fire, our room was clean, well furnished although an older style. However was not tatty with good quality heavy curtains, bedding and chairs. Bathroom was clean and average size with bath/shower. Elemis toiletries and fluffy towels. Dinner was covid distanced and masks etc were worn by all. The food was tasty and good quality, Garlic prawns, homemade soup and lemon sole was enjoyed. We had a good breakfast, ordering as we went along. Eggs benedict and salmon/scrambled eggs freshly cooked. The best feature of The Swan were the staff. Very professional, friendly and attentive, the hotel only had a few guests but there was no compromise on the service offered. Enjoyed a short 1 night stay but will return.

  Friendly & Relaxing

  Myself and my daughter stayed for one night on the winter DBB deal. We received a great welcome by the friendly members of staff. The Hotel feels very safe and staff are highly trained around Covid. Room was clean, comfortable with an amazing view. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and we will certainly be visiting again. Really enjoyed sitting around the fire and chatting to the staff. One night not enough. Thanks again Warren and Anne Marie Gray x

  Excellent Country hotel, restaurant

  We recently stayed here for three nights and were made very welcome by all the staff. The meals were all good and the social distancing measures very reassuring. We would like to say a big thank you to Hazel for serving us our food and to Nelly for helping us at reception. A big shout out to the other staff and not least to the chef for a great stay and great food. On a practical note the hotel is a short walk from the village centre and has a decent sized car park.

  Special Christmas Break at The Swan, Grasmere

  My son and I really enjoyed our 2 night Christmas break at The Swan in Grasmere this year and we want to sing the praises of the staff who made us feel so welcome during our stay. Upon arrival we were welcomed and able to check in straight away after the general health and safety regulations for Covid (hand sanitiser etc). The service for drinks and eats was excellent for all meals and our rooms were very clean and warm. I was lucky to have a room with a view and on Christmas Eve as the sun went down the snow capped hills were burnished with gold! This country hotel is very popular with tourists especially walkers and ideally located within half a mile of the centre of Grasmere with plenty of shops, cafes and historical interest i.e the Wordsworth Garden & Cemetary, Museum and Gingerbread shop. For a very friendly and relaxing stay away from home I would definitely recommend The Swan Hotel at Grasmere.

  Perfect stay

  Well what can I say our stay here was perfect from start to finish ! All the staff are so friendly and really go out there way to make your stay feel special,above and beyond I would say! It's one of the best dog friendly hotels I have stayed in and we come the lakes quite often! Food is of a really high standard and you do get what you pay for! As for the room well the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I have stayed in ! I am so surprised to see reviews that aren't excellent as I couldn't recommend enough ! We will definitely be back and already look forward to it ! Thankyou everyone for making it a lovely experience ! Even brian !! (The owners lovely labrador) Xxx
