  Booking cancelled by Government Covid Restriction

  We didn't actually get to visit this resort during Christmas and New year. This booking was made via booking.com as a reservation which could be cancelled and payment was to be made at the resort. However the hotel took the full payment quickly after booking. Once the government put the area into lock down we could no longer travel, booking.com blamed the hotel and vice versa.. It is now 12 January, we have been calling and emailing since 20 December to try to get out £800 refunded, but to no avail. I've been offered to re-book or a voucher but I can't travel next year due to having to move other holidays from 2020.. All I want is a refund of monies legally owed to me. The government stated no one would be out of pocket and you can't be fobbed off with vouchers. Customer service has been terrible all round.

  Poor customer service and quality

  Setting is beautiful but the accommodation is tiered. Although we visited during allowed covid 19 restrictions we would still expect customer service to greet you on arrival with a smile and useful information. We were made to feel like an inconvenience. Needs significant staff improvements. Heating charge is standard no matter how much you use, whether it works of not!

  Dated and dilapidated

  The lodge we stayed in was dated and delapidated. The stairs were worn and incredibly creaky, the shower leaked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom underneath a live socket (in use at the time). Our bathroom was not clean with several hairs in it. To say we were disappointed was an understatement, as it was no where near the level of quality youre assured when you book a McDonald resort. The photos posted of the lodge that we stayed in are nothing like the reality.

  Birthday Break

  A well run property in a fantastic location. Plenty of hot water for showers after winter outdoor activities. Mulled wine on the balcony watching the sun go down over the Cairngorms- whats not to like?

  Chalet Accommodation at Dalfaber

  We usually have a lodge at Dalfaber but Chalets were all that was available when we booked, probably because some of the accommodation is not being used due to the pandemic. We found the chalet rather cold for November/December and it would have been helpful if the heating had been put on for a while before we arrived. Accommodation clean and comfortable if rather compact.. Definately prefer the lodges.
