Pretty badLocation is fantastic, just 5 minutes walk from Robinson and night entertainment. The facility is old and neglected. Room was really big and featured also a kitchenette, but all looked so shabby. No wi-fi. Staff were kind except the night manager, a lady, who was surly all the time.

Dated, Living off on its former gloryDated. This place is so dated that it seems to just rely on and is stuck to its former glory. Location wise, it is near the US embassy in the Philippines, along Manila Bay. The area is littered with hotels and hostels, fastfood and convenient stores nearby. As for the hotel, well if you can book elsewhere then do so. The lobby is dimly. They also require a 20 USD, (1000 PHP) room deposit which I feel is too absurd given the place antiquity. There is a restaurant as well, but it was close when we were there (we found the menu on the room and they are hella pricey). And they sell some basic toiletry stuff as well. Hotel staff are wearing the classic bellboy uniforms. It was a depressing vibe. The room. It was spacious. The door is a basic housedoor, with the doorknob as your only lock. No slippers, floor is not carpeted and it was dusty. There are no trash bins except the one in the bathroom. Kitchen - yes, the room we had has a mini kitchen and dine area, it comes with a stove, exhaust fan, fridge, pots and pans, utensils, plate and cups. We had to call for assistance on how to use the stove, i forgot if its electric but we have to call help as the knobs don't indicate which burner is for which and some of the burners don't work. The service guy is an old man but very polite to help. Our utensils are not complete, we have more spoon than fork. There is no electric kettle, but a whistling one. No way to clean the mess. The fridge smells of a fridge that has not been opened in a while. Living room area - ok, its just a sofa, coffee table and a TV. The sofa and its flaky leathery cover. The CRT TV with an askew picture tube that is has a lot of static (has cable though). The room has no wi-fi, mind you. Large bed, bit dirty. Lampshade and bedside table. Second room floor has a terrace, nothing to see. Bathroom - its hot and cold faucets work decently. They did provide towels and just a soap. I don't recall if there are any bidet. This place is just in a sad state right now. If only it can be modernized and step to current times sadly for now it is just living off and scraping by on the days gone by. The staff were friendly, could not say much to the front desk personnel.

It has been closed since Nov. 2019Due to unknown reason, Mabini Mansion has been closed from Nov. 2019. I had lodged Mabini Mansion past 10 years, reasonable ratio/fine location/good relation with staffs. I'm looking oher hotel similar one.

Great PlaceI loved the place. I had been staying there since the early 90's. The staff was great and the restaurant okay too. Very good location. They closed on Dec 12, 2019, a very sad occasion; I had to leave that day along with all the others people staying there. Its my understanding the place was bought by the Chinese (very common story these days) and will have contracts only serving the Chinese clients.
