  Nice place to stay. Gorgeous surrounds. Nice wooden cleen zimmers.

  Very nice place to spend a night or two. Located on the river with beautiful garden, outside pool for the kids, outside jacuzzi, nice wooden simply furnished zimmers with kitchen, TV, clean bathroom. Friendly staff.

  You can hide, but I will find you...

  If you don't know Alba Iulia but you have a GPS device, set it to find the pension by GPS coordinates instead of street address or you might not find the place. Nice staying conditions; the rooms are suited for a comfortable stay (A/C, TV, WIFI). The beds might not be perfect especially if you are a big person (they squeak), but once you felt asleep, "nothing else matters". Good quality breakfast, nice personnel - certainly a place to come back.

  awful location, expired beer at the bar, water leaking through the ceiling

  The board and lodging is located across the street from old blockhouses - not very picturesque. They gave us a room in the attic, where the only window was too small and too high to see anything outside. The room was decorated like it was the 60's all over again and we had to go up some really narrow stairways to get there. There was water leaking from the ceiling on the hallway and a bucket was collecting all that water. We were afraid to eat there so we just had some beers at the bar; after a few sips I checked the expiration date on the bottle and it was past due.

  Unimpressed

  Stayed one night, which was one night too many. The hotel has probably seen better days, but I wouldn't know when that period was. It's very over priced. Decor is surreal at best, maintenance and general up keep is long gone. Best things was the coffee and the view in the rear view mirror.

  1 star is too much..

  Make sure you don't get things mixed up!! There is a Hotel MA in town and another one out of town, which is the nicer one I guess. We stayed at the one in town because the photos did not look bad at all, bit tacky but very cosy! Well, this is a classic case of expectation vs. reality. Absolutely shocking. Lots of old and broken cars outside in the parking lot, the most unhelpful receptionist, dying plants in the rooms,... We didn't even bother with breakfast.
